Well the opportunity arose to buy this for a very good price. I was only buying some paddock stands.... In the words of maxticate who sold us it. Who many thanks for putting up with our badgering and many questions. "It is a L4 ZXR400 (1994). Converted to a race/track bike. It has a Dynatech blue printed engine with a ported and flowed head. Dynatech ignition advance unit with rev limit and ignition advance adjustments. If the power reading is correct it was putting out around 76 bhp which is more than a standard ER6 which is a 650 parallel twin. It has Matris front fork cartridges and an Ohlins rear shock with remote preload adjuster. (both the forks and ohlins will need a service, the front right fork seal also needs replacing. I have the fork seal and fork oil for the forks ) Sprint steering damper. Brand new Dunlop alpha10 tyres Spare wheels with wet tyres (un-mounted) Electric loom has been stripped down so no key required but the starter motor is still present so no having to bump start. Ram air box fitted (through radiator type) Standard brakes with brand new pads. Oil radiator removed and replaced with an aluminum by-pass channel. Full titanium beet exhaust system. The body work needs spraying and attaching and I'd include the paint and lacquer to match the current paintwork. This is how it pretty much currently stands (minus the oil radiator and with the rear master cylinder attached, the rear master cylinder needs the internals replacing as it weeps) Here is a video of it running, http://s283.photobucket.com/user/maxtic ... 6.mp4.html" It's sort of a project for lucky13 s racing ambitions and a back up track bike. I'm not so worried about its fairings and paint work as let's be honest she a bit fond of the gravel.
I've been waiting for a pic since lucky said about this earlier. And like I said you need something to put on the paddock stands
I had a L5 as my first track bike, loved it to bits. Could carry so much lean on it that I ground down my exhaust protector round Gerrards! Enjoy it!
Well the blue is the freshest bit of paint work so will stay. There may be a respray in future. More important is a few outstanding bits to make it run more smoothly.
I'm thinking Bedford for testing. Otherwise it's committed to Croft in may. As our bikes will be packed up and on their ways to portugal
Cracking bike and these 400's can be very nimble on the smaller tracks.(I have a few NC35's and always draw glances when Im out on them here in Sweden)
