That thought struck me too in this particular case. There are of course many excellent riders who only ride weekends. The other thing is group dynamics. One or two immature muppets can soon turn things to custard. I just wonder whether there was one, two or three in this group. I suspect all of them though are straight line speedsters
Rider panicked, just locked back brake and froze. If he had pulled out to have a look before accelerating he could have just dropped back in. Accelerating before pulling out meant he had to brake to pull in and he just panicked and grabbed the brake. Luckily the car driver swerved and lucky he didn't drop the bike and slide under the car. Simple case of stupid follow the leader overtakes that too often we see riders in groups do and rider with little ability. The guy with the camera, missed several overtaking opportunities after that, maybe he was scared or he didn't want to ride near that muppet anymore.
my point was also, what chance has that grey car of finding the biker and claiming for his scratched car? Whereas if he had driven straight at him he could have claimed for front end damage.
All excellent points. It's clear as day he had one thing in mind and that was to just keep up with the guy in front. Could of cost him his w%&king arm for a few months, his walking ability for the rest of his life or his life. Hope it shook him up...it did with me!!
