Not today but Monday at Beford in Inters. Probably my 2nd favourite track after Donington, though the long straight isn't great for keeping litre bikes behind. There were a couple of other Daytonas, but naturally I didn't take any pics, so that's helpful. Always feels like my head and elbow are lower than they are in reality.
Looking good Trogdor, I know exactly what you mean there. I think I'm squeezing into the gap between the side of my bike & the rubbing strip, then when I see a picture of me I appear to be riding like a commuter on a scooter.
Is that you in the pic. I was there on Monday, didn't get many laps in as I was having an oil leak issue from my new stator grommet. Hopefully back there on the 21st July to try again
Yep, that's me. I started to get ill the day before and was fine for the morning, but felt like crap in the afternoon and had to skip the last 2 sessions. Were you in the advanced group?
Managed to do a photoshoot with the other half and the bikes. Tripod and controlling the new camera with my phone was fun
I trust everything's ok Trogdor.? Fwiw I've been there, the kitty litter on the exit of Coppice that is.
Eh, I'm very sore, but okay. Bike isnt in great shape, the expensive bits all got dragged through the gravel. It's definitely the end of the season. All my kit took an impact and airbag deployed so it was a fucking expensive mistake. I'll fix it but will take me a while.
What's better than one beautiful Daytona? TWO beautiful Daytonas, that's what. I had a chilly, and brief ride down to Henley with my gorgeous friend and her equally gorgeous Super 111.
Both looking great, nice to see yours is staying clean after the detailing Mine last weekend, looking at the weather for the coming week it may be my last ride of the year, running fantastic though, filled it exclusively with Shell V-Power E5 99 RON for the last month in preparation for the winter layup and maybe placebo effect but definitely feels more lively, possibly better quality fuel than my normal supermarket brand or the higher detergent content has helped clean something.
First ride of the year Bike was faultless as expected, roads were atrocious also as expected Wrists a bit painful still after the accident back in September, no amount of exercise or physio can really replicate riding, especially a sportsbike, so hopefully it will improve as I get more bike fit. Thought it would be ironic if something happened days before fitting the new dashcams, just on cue a prick in a Tesla nearly reversed into me while wating at some lights, must have been stationary behind him for a minute with engine running and new LED headlight on, luckily he just stopped before hitting me. Maybe its all these ridiculous new car adverts which tell drivers you don't have to bother using your mirrors or looking behind, the car will sort it out for you, yeah right Hope everybody else gets out soon, if you haven't already.
Don't you know that it's got to be your fault for daring to be on the Tesla owned road? It was gorgeous this afternoon and it would've been a waste to be shut inside and doing what I'm actually paid to do during the day. Soooo... I terrified the bikes by opening the garage door, stripping one of them of their comfort blankie and going out for my first wobbly ride since October. God, I ache now!
Is there one bike you normally choose for your first ride of the year, ironically I imagine the 200hp S1000RR is "easier" is some ways than the Daytona for a first ride. I would normally have chose the Thruxton over the Daytona as it was a bit gentler on the wrists, didn't constantly put me in attack mode and had heated grips. My wrists had recovered well enough the next day to enjoy the weather with a long ride on the pushbike, so fingers crossed they'll be ok. Hopefully your aches and pains ease off with more seat time.
If I only had heated grips on the one bike, then that'd be my go-to choice as well. There wasn't any deep thought process that went into choosing the BM over the Daytona: the BMs at the front of the garage and I would've had to manoeuvre the Daytona past the obstacles that Mr J keeps on leaving in its way, like his own bike...
I pushed the boat out and ended up at Hs, after I went for a chilly morning bumble. The Daytona is a little hooligan, but it's trying to look innocent in a group of IAM riders.
