Quick early evening ride to Lytham to get more "running in" miles done after the service and cam change, bike still feels great, obviously not opened it up yet, new brake pads need bedding in as well but feel promising so far.

Are the front pads moving freely Wobbles', the reason I ask is that the front disc appears to show two different contact effects in that^ image ?

  3. We went for a quick breakfast run to Lynwood's in Lechlade for some of their excellent food and coffee. Well, when I say quick, it was more like a plodding, running in, getting to know the bike mooch rather than anything approaching quick. My beautiful friend made sure that Daytonas were still represented.

  4. You were in my neck of the woods! How is the bike going? I was actually going to head out that way today but alas got busy doing other things

Obviously motorway miles, but that was the point the fuel light had just come on. Managed to get just over 13 litres in the tank from the nearby petrol station.[IMG]

  6. Tisk, these dodgy southerners that come and invade your territory, eh?. Lynwood's is about an hour from mine and makes a nice little ride for a breakfast destination.

The bike is... Challenging! Today was only my second ride on it and this time, things have improved slightly as I didn't need help getting it off the side stand. Woohoo.

  7. Yes, definitely moving freely, the disks have looked that that for years with the DP Sport pads, see pic below from 2020, also the Thruxton disks look similar with the same pads, haven't done any high speed braking yet with the EBC's to get some pad transfer to see if it changes but it doesn't bother me.

  8. I've been meaning to get to the Iron Bull Roadhouse nr Basingstoke for yonks, and I actually made it today. What a great place - the food is good and well priced, it's clean (that's a biggee for my OCD tendancies), the staff are lovely and, very importantly, it's got a decent tarmac carpark that's almost level

I did go via having a little looksee and sit on the new 600rr... Mmmm, it's very nice and has a really good riding position for me. I'm hoping that I hate it when I demo it though!

  9. I'm confused now, is this to possibly go alongside your new Beemer:confused:

  10. I think Mr Janey would have words with me if I was to try and sneak a third bike into the garage!

The 600RR was, on paper, I bike that I was seriously considering as my new one. Then I got frustrated by the ever extending release date for it and went for the BeeEmm instead.

    Seriously good effort there.
I used to play fuel light roulette on my Street when i was commuting, and managed to get into the 170's, but that was well after the fuel light had already been on. The latest i think i saw the fuel light was 151 and i was worried as i thought it might be broken or float got stuck, as it normally came on about 135.
You could have got another 30 miles on the light if you managed to get that far before it came on. :D

Be brave, and good luck for next time ;)

I had a deposit on a Super III like that, but swapped it to my '13 as that was announced before i completed.

I always liked the colour though, and tried to get 8 Ball to paint my new '13 into that scheme, but they were a bit hard to deal with.

I made the trek up to Cadwell Park on Sunday for breakfast, and there was an MSV bike trackday on, with quite a few 675 and 765s on track in one of the sessions.

Felt nostalgic, but not quite enough to consider getting into that game again :D

  14. I took the Gen2 to the super insalubrious delights of West London earlier today. After two weeks of hard work on the BMW (my sis has nicknamed her Big Bertha :p), being back on the Daytona was a sooooo different. My lordy it's tiny and so light in comparison!

Mmmmmmmmmmm. I took a breakfast ride down to The Yard Cafe nr Alresford this morning. I've never been there before, but I think it's now going to be a regular ride destination as the food was amazing and very well priced. The type1 sloping carpark was a bit eeeeek! though.

(I had to include a little photo of Steffy on the driveway before I left as it just looks so good).
