https://www.flickr.com/photos/186148378@N05/54523986018/in/dateposted-public/ A nice upgrade to a carbon bracket on my R (only works with the Akra silencer). Not completely straightforward as I now need to learn to weld aluminium as the seat subframe needs a couple of brackets. Not a bad thing as I’ve had a TiG welder for ages and never got round to learning. Now my hand is forced, especially as I’ve cut the original mounting point off my subframe…..
Well yesterday rode to work then on to the garage to get it MOT'd which it passed with no advisories which is nice Need to adjust the rear wheel as the chain seems a bit too slack at the moment and still need to sort out the major service.....
That sounds like a perfect excuse for some Sunday morning fettling, then an extended ride out afterwards just to 'test' your handiwork.

Still got the hot start issue though Tony and the guys have tested the fuel pump and it could be at fault as it was reading 2.8 bar, not sure if that was just with the key turned or with the bike running but the workshop manual states it should be running at 3 bar, so they're going to look into it and most likely replace the pump and the regulator as both or one of them could be at fault. Turns out the 2013 Daytona's on to the 765 have pumps that run at 3.5 bar, so fingers crossed this is the final piece of the puzzle
Not the bike - but the Sena [emoji[emoji6][emoji6]]S headset was having a few connectivity issues for the MESH & didn’t work last ride out - so according to the web, a bit of silver paint should do the trick on the corroded connectors (got wet in Scotland on the NC[emoji6][emoji[emoji6][emoji6]][emoji[emoji6][emoji6]]). Easy as job - see if it works tomorrow. Sent from my iPhone using ]][emoji[emoji6]][emoji6]][emoji6][emoji[emoji6]][emoji6].cc
And here he is, back home with me. A Daytona 765 Need to just tidy up the headlight wiring because of the angel eyes etc but hopefully get out to test him soon before I take him to Wales Sent from my Pixel 8a using Tapatalk
Great News Stephen, should be loads of fun for you over the summer. Interesting info re fuel pump pressure, mine hardly ever starts first time hot or cold and my pump is is from a 3rd gen Daytona.Did you get a newer street triple pump fitted?? Was the exhaust seriously modified ?? Enjoy mate.
Yeah, they said they didn't think it was the pump at the time and instead found the voltage on the TPS and idle was out of sync with what it should be, so they changed that and it fired up when hot. I'll keep an eye on the pump though just incase. However I'm having to really tidy up the headlight wiring since I had the fancy ones fitted many many years ago and they come with a ton of wiring that I just hid as best I could, now seems like the best time to actually chop out all that excess wiring and fit them more nicely so its not an issue down the line. While doing that I may have drained the battery which was replaced for a larger one because its struggling to start now, cranks for a bit then goes through the motions like a low voltage battery would, silly me, I've put it on trickle but I go away on Friday so I'll no doubt get stuck into it when I'm back and can actually spend a few afternoons working on the headlights. So no test ride just yet, but soon Oh and no the exhaust was not modded at all, it's a standard straight pipe, headers are from delkevic who are somewhat retarded in the fact they wouldn't accept any blame for that lower bolt hole mount not lining up, they seem to think it must have been fitted incorrectly, tw@ts so I still need to have that part re-welded into the correct position. All they did in regards to the exhaust was swap the sump and pickup so its on the other side, allowing the exhaust to go down that side like it would do on a normal Daytona
Gen 2 airbox because the Gen 2 throttle bodies were used, so no changes needed on that part. And the tank does fit, but you have to modify the fuel pump placement when you lower the tank to avoid the crankcase breather hose, it's a bit tight but it all fits Not ridden it yet as I went away on holiday last week but hopefully I'll get the headlight wiring done asap and take it out for a spin
Thanks for that Stephen. I am going to try the gen 3 injectors and airbox as this airbox has the extra fuel rail injectors that spray into the airbox above 6000rpm(ish,i think). Was thinking of using the higher pressure fuel pump you mentioned earlier too. Hope the hols were fun,let us know how it goes on the road.
Will do, I did read somewhere that the upper injectors may not add as much performance as you think. But worth a go. The fuel pump wasn't changed on mine but I am keeping an eye on it just incase it does need to change. Though I may further down the line switch out the whole electronics just incase they are the cause of the starting issue, though I've not had any issues getting it to start today when I pushed the button. I did switch out the lead/acid battery which was 14AH and 280CCA from Yuasa to a lithium one from a company called NOCO, it has 4AH but they hard to compare against other types, but it does have 500CCA, seeing as I don't run anything extra on the bike and the fact it charges faster I figured higher CCA was the better option and the weight saving is quite a nice thing, battery weights next to nothing compared to the lead/acid one
After contacting KTMoto to get a wiring diagram on the headlights I've just about given up on fitting them. So I'll be switching back to a standard OEM set. No doubt once I fit the standard ones I'll hear back about the wiring I did however remove the triumph levers which I've had on the bike for its entire life and replaced them with ASVs, had them on a previous 675 and they instantly feel so much better and with tons more adjustment Sent from my Pixel 8a using Tapatalk
