Polished stuff is a total nightmare to keep clean and stop it from pitting in the UK. My mates got an old ZX6R G2 with polished frame and wheel rims and it's pitted a little despite him not riding in the wet, keeping it garaged and cleaning/polishing it regularly. Looks good but damn it's a whole lotta work to keep it that way.
thanks guys again for the.....er...... help i think! yeah i owned a qwaka and i think thats why i like the green alot, polished no way as of what carpel said i decided that at the start, but i thought BIG time about carbon wheels but 1. carbon starts to deteriorates after about five years, so that cant be good for the tyers and 2. where the hell am i gonna find a place that will even want to touch carbon wheels to change tyers?! my local place were i get my tyers done i know for a fact they wont want anything to do with them, and im pretty chummy with them and always give me a good deal so dont really want to change. i'm thinking gold to keep with the forks, brakes ect theam of gold, but i want something to stand out from the bike as it looks soo dull now.....
Um, your bike's DRIPPING in carbon fibre and you think it looks dull? There really is no pleasing a woman.
haha yeah looks nice if you take a second glance at it but other than that it just looks like a plain old grey bike, just want it to stand out from a far....
Seriously, Hazza....your bike looks awesome as is, gold wheels will make it look super-spiffy, make grown men cry like babies, & probably stop your Mom from giving you the never-ending-lectures on "Harriet, -when are you going to find a nice young man to marry, & settle down and give me grandchildren??"....at least for a while!!! ....Your bike is black/dark grey....so it's probably never going to stand out at a distance unless you resort to "cheapening" or "chavving" it's looks in some way..that said, if it were me - I'd be looking at having some of that gorgeous CF bodywork painted..not all of it, but something along the lines of what Bimota has done with the DB7.....now that would TRULY look outstanding, save me money, AND save you bruises!! ....admittedly, Bimota covered nearly everything on the DB7's CF body with paint, and I'm not suggesting for a second that you go THAT far...just something to consider..???
What's wrong with just a subtle bit of customising as the Day-Glo route looks a bit naff? Had a last minute thought, if you want to get noticed, do a Lady Godiva
D41 my mum has had that chat with me waay too many times lol! I don't really want to paint over the CF as I've spent so much bloody money on it I wanna kinda show it off not cover it up, but yeah I guess gold it gonna be the way to go I think, was still thinking about White but then it's the cleaning factor......
have a look at what this guy did with his wheels, not suggesting that you do the same colours but i think the wheels being all one bright colour wouldnt go well with the cf, this might help 'calm' it down a bit. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nWB4AoX2IXc
