Hi guys been a while since I been on here I have a query, I want to try the new dunlop gp 212 on my 675, I normally run the 180 supercorsas but heard nothing but good things about these 212's, just wondering if anyone has ran a 190 on there's and if it's drastic setting changes on the suspension? Thanks!
And the dunlops only come in 190's or I would just buy a 180, any info would be appreciated! Cheers guys
Not in to Dunlop tyres tbh. Why not follow the crowd and stick with mezeller or bridge stone. Proven track record on the 675
Used to run racetecs on my zx6 but getting on sound with supercorsas on my triumph like I say I'm just wondering if anyone has ran a 190 and if so how did they get on thanks for reply though
I ran a 190 Racetec on my old Gixer 6 on track, it's squeezed onto a narrower rim than it is meant for, so sits higher in the centre of the tyre. This means the bike is geared up slightly, which will give an incorrect speedo reading. It also means the wheel & tyre requires more room between the tyre and the hugger and the swingarm. The benefit is slightly more edge grip and it changes the turn in of the bike, but tbh the 180/60 Pirelli is just as good and would keep the insurance happy should there be an accident.
The profile changes as does the geometry as the ride height will also change Likely it will worsen the handling not improve it. Also Deegee is right ..Insurance companies do check tyres and if not OEM spec can decide not to pay out
It can be done and quite a few race on them. I use the GP211 and rate them above super corsa's. I'd say for the road both these are over the top and won't last long at all.
