I noticed the quote is from July 1989!

Yep, I've never met anyone who has driven one who thinks it's a girls car. The mk4 really in some ways feels similar to the mk2, it's very similar weight if not lighter and has all the same feelings when driving it, it's just more 'finished' as you would expect and obviously is full of safety tech and proper roll bars etc.

I got my registration through today and am picking up next Saturday, here's a crap picture of my actual car....

So I picked up the car on Saturday, I've done the grand total of 60 miles so far, including a de-stress blast last night which definitely helped!

I'm still keeping an eye out for bikes later in the year, the likely candidate is an early RSV, a 09-12 D675, or a Aprilia RS250. Hopefully I'll get something at the end of the year.

Nice wheels Phil! Your provisional bike replacement list isn't bad either!

Haha yeah, it's between 3 bikes, the RS250's are a LOT of money when they appear, early RSV's are just so cool to my eyes, and of course Daytona's well.... ;-)

  10. Just sold her last week, now without a bike as well. But my reason was down to lack of work. I work in the offshore industry, ironically work is picking up from April, but has come too late, mortgages and bills to pay. The flip side should be flush for the summer and that ZX10RR is looking awfully tempting. But still gutted I had to sell the best bike I've ever ridden.

Ah fair enough, yeah for me having loads of money tied up in PCP on the Ducati just wasn't something I could keep doing. Even though I've spent more on my car a month, it's something I use every day and so I feel like I get value from it. Hence also why the next bike will be something I can hopefully buy outright!

I rode both my Daytona and my Ducati 899 on track and I think I'm faster on the Daytona marginally because the Daytona was easier to ride. I'll defiantly get something else, just not sure which of my shortlist yet

I'm actually over the worst of the bike loss tears now... I'm plotting for my next one next year which is likely to be a 748r/998 or an RS250 mk2. Budget will be around 6k as I don't want to get into loads of pcp again
