Out for a ride today and was revving more than I normally do. Normally change up around 10/11k rpm when I revved up to 12k it felt like it hit the rev limiter. Arnt the daytonas supposed to exceed 14k rpm or will it always bounce off the limiter at 12k? Thanks
I think max power is reached at just over 12k (12.1k to 12.6k depending on the model IIRC) so surely rev limiter must be around 13k or more. I hit over 12k on few occasions but I never had the rev limiter kicking in.
I hit mine quite a lot , but I'm never looking at the rev-counter to know when it kicks in. It's a nice evening. I'll take the scenic route this evening, & make a point of checking. Will post up when I get home, if that helps.
Erm.. forgive a stupid question.. but why does the red line on mine say 16-18K but the limiter kicks in well before the redline? Most unsettling.
“So where the hell have you been? I’ve been worried sick….” “ etc..." “....no you weren’t working late, I rang them & was told you were seen leaving before 6.....” “ :hole: “ Scenic route.?? You expect me to believe a scenic route takes you over an extra hour & a half more” “ :hole: :hole:” “If you’re seeing another woman, I swear……..” (IR I need to take coaching lesons from Captain Steffy. ) Anyway, back to the OP… My field test results,: around 14,200 the limiter kicks in. I couldn’t tell you when the peak power was achieved, each time she still seemed to be pulling like a train all the way to that point. ('06 with the std tailpipe back on & running the std Map) Mission accomplished. You sure run out of road rapidly, when you’re doing those speeds. Especially when you’re trying to keep your eyes on the clocks (that in itself took some serious amount self control for me, a bit like trying to run with your eyes closed IMO)..
Hmm not sure what's going on then. Was literally just dieing when it hit 12k. I'll give it another go tomorrow and she what happens. Thanks.
