  1. As I don't race but do a few track days, I find 2 piece the way to go.

I know I ride a Daytona, but I bought a 2 piece BWM Start Suit with Non-Newtonian armour... What I like about BMW is that you can buy different waist sizes n different leg lengths, and same with the jackets its the same again with different height chest waist sizes, then you can match the top n bottom.

They fit really well when zipped up all the way around...ie it feels like a one piece where standing up and feels a little tight, but tucked over your tank feels right.

If I could've spent abit more, might have gone for the Sport 2 Suit.

Well for good or bad I've just ordered the Alpinestars Carver 1 Piece Suit in White/Black/Red combination

I was going to get the flourescent yellow arm/knee/waist detailing, but then went against that idea. I wear a high viz jacket, but some days I just dont want to bother. I'd like the choice.

Anyways, better be a good investment lol

  3. Where did you get it from dude? I need a new one...

  4. I know im late to the thread.I've had both Astars and Dainese. I wouldn't go back to Astars the Dainese (Avro P Race) suit is much more comfortable and generally feels much better quality. It's a shame as I like the Astars look.

Quite a few people on here have the Avro P. I haggled and got mine fitted for no extra cost. A months wait but worth it.

I had an off in my Astars the armour moved inside the forearm and the knee which really pissed me off. Dainese suits are injection moulded so theory is they don't move.

At the end of the day its all about the bikes and how you ride them. Everything else is just 'stuff'

When i was looking for my leathers I tried both 2 piece and 1 piece and found that (for me anyway) the 1 piece was much more comfortable when on the bike. My leathers have stretched a little to allow me to just about stand up straight in them without crushing the unmentionables, however, i will add to make sure that it has pockets! My onesie doesnt, and its a PITA.

A good thing to consider if you are looking for off the shelf (or custom come to think of it) is to try then on and make sure they fit when you're wearing your back protector.

Yep, I took my Forcefield Pro Sub4 back protector with me and had it on when trying on all these suits.

Lack of pockets is an issue, however I now use an Oxford lifetime luggage RT4. It justs straps around your waist and throw it towards the back. It also holds a spare visor in a pouch, so its very useful for keys, wallet, phone, cloth/cleaning stuff, spare batteries etc.

Tend not to carry anything in my suit now (one piece or two piece) due to horror stories of accident intrusion

Yeh, thats true, i try not to have to now after all the awkward looks in petrol stations where I'm fishing around down my by knee for my wallet or phone as its fallen down there whilst getting off the bike.

  13. I used an alpinestar 1piece for about 5yrs and 3crashes, 1 a real biggy and never broke a bone, honestly carnt fault the protection they offer! Only thing I found was they were a slightly baggy fit. I've used a wolf, kangaroo 1piece since with a Knox aegis back protector under and I've never been so comfortable on two wheels, protection is good too although I've only been down the rd once in this one an it was 30mph max,

Anyway I think ur new suit looks the nuts an think u carnt go far wrong for £500 notes

Are u from the brum area then arrow?

My Alpinestars Carver 1 piece suit is on order and should be with me this coming Friday or Monday.

I'm just about to click on the 'Buy Me Now' button for the 2012 Dainese Full Metal Pro Gloves in White.

Hmmm, dont know if its going to look 'over the top'

    White NEXX XR1R Carbon Helmet
White Alpinestars Carver Suit with red piping
White dainese Full Metal Pro Gloves
    Black TCX S-Race Summer boots.
    White Triumph Daytona 675R

What do you think? (I'm going the dread the answers as I've now committed to everything anyway except the gloves)

    Oh great !! lol

Well I seem to be collecting the whole Star Wars themed suits then (maybe something subliminal going on) as I look like Darth Vadar when touring on my VFR1200

"I find your lack of faith disturbing...."

All I need now is a KTM and Chewbacca outfit ha ha
