Ongar motorcycles have a 2012 675R with 1 mile on the clock £9199 worth calling them and see what they offer you on yours
Wheres ongar?? i can see a road trip in our future johnny boy your driving mind.....mmmm trackday down south great chance to get a shot of the bike..... :-o :-o
I get what you are saying dude but I can't bring myself to own a bike that looks like it's been the result of some weekend fling between the elephant man and dumbo. Agreed sometimes looks grow on you but nothing else looks like the original daytona that was what made it so unique and special not being funny but the new ones look like the front end of a CBR 600RR and rear end of Ninja have been welded together. I don't take away that the new ones have loads of nice toys and extras on them which I am sure you boys will enjoy but none of that sways me towards a bike that would make me physically sick everytime I looked at it because it's as ugly as the bird I lost my virginity to.. I will be one of those people that will never upgrade to the new model unless it is given a serious face lift and they ditch those ridiculous mirros and actually in fact just go back to the drawing board and start again. This is one of those times that Triumph should've listened when they said if it ain't broke don't fix it... But I am not you and you will enjoy your bike I am sure and I wish you many happy miles of motoring buddy.
Purely on looks ignoring all the new toys old looks better hands down but all the toys and mordern electronics are what draw me to the bike that its sole objective is to go faster and be more advanced and I'm racing it in the t3 so that's pretty handy( shame most other people will be on one too!) looks like the wait is nearly over could have my bike end of next week complete with scorpion exhaust and some other bits unfortunately no fairings so I'm trying to source from elsewhere so I can go testing!
Good luck with that mate are you at brands on the 19th testing? What number you racing? Will be sure to pop down and say hello.
Harsh... lol Gary, take no notice everyone will have their opinion and there are plenty of people who will be happy to see the new Daytona 675R on the road. As I said, people keep asking me if its the new one and seem to lose all their excitement when I tell them it isnt lol. Go get it, put some pictures up on here with you actually riding the bike and enjoy every minute of it Thats what I think
You do understand I'm not having a pop at Gary personally right dude? Everybody has their opinion on it and I was just expressing mine I know Gary will enjoy his bike and that is the main thing for him I have no doubt that whatever I have said will not mean two shits to him
I do But he is picking up his pride and joy today or tomorrow, so thinking in his mind it looks like Dumbo crossed with Elephant Man might not be the best way to enjoy collection day
I am certain that thought will be farthest from his mind when he picks up his new toy dude. I can't help it that is just how I see the new model I really can't stand it but like I said I am not Gary and I am sure Gary will enjoy it and have many many miles of happy riding on it and good for him it's just not for me it never has been and never will be...ever.
Pop away lol i am one person who couldnt give a shit about what people say or do:grin: i must blind cause how any1can say its ugly doesnt see what i see. I love the look of every sports bike thats why i cant make my mind up with what bike to have i have had naked bikes but just not that wooo factor when opening the garage door. I love the triumph brand thats why i am picking up my bike friday and not the new zx6r or rsv4 or what ever itmay be. More excited about the 675r than any other bike i have had in the 30 yrs of riding so i wont take offence with what ever is said would b a strange world if we all liked the same bikeor woman :-o now the dayis dragging atwork waiting for tomorrow
That's the spirit Gazza! Really hope you enjoy it mate. People say my R1 is fuck ugly but I love her all the same so I totally get where you are coming from and it is each to their own as you rightly say. Enjoy it mate watch the SC's in this weather though buddy you know how slippy they are enjoy the ride and stay shiny side up not seen one with a seat cowl yet so would be interested to see what it looks like so pics please!
I recently purchased a 2012 675R, i was tempted to get a 2013 model but the looks really put me off. In my opinion they have not got it right! Like other have said, when i first saw the 'old' R.. i thought wow. I see the new one and i don't have that same feeling.
Good luck with that mate are you at brands on the 19th testing? What number you racing? Will be sure to pop down and say hello. Im booked in for the testday just hope I get all the bit I need in time! Number 21

Heading offshore tonight but on my return in 3 weeks the bikes will be exchanged. Farewell trusty steed and hello new 'R' Managed finally to get more for the part ex and a bit knocked off the new bike, also a service, tax and they are fitting my new tyres.
