I found them great in the dry, but they did lose heat quickly when it was chilly so had to keep pushing to keep them warm and grippy. I wouldn't use them as a Winter tyre again. Hahaha - you don't want the experience that my riding skills gave me! Just take it easy.
Thanks for the advice Captain Steffydog. Something to remember. I have had max 2 minutes riding experience on the 675. If/when I pass my test, I will be planning on only taking her out in dry weather. Easy for me to check weather update in the morning. Zero rain forecast, I'll take her for a ride. I will go very easy at first. I will need to tame the beast before I play with her. If I get caught out, I'll just take it very easy. If the tyres turn out to be a nightmare, I will obviously seek replacements. Just a quick question. How easy is it to change the tyres?
What tyres are most popular on the Forum? Maybe one day I'll see your riding skills for myself. I'll pass judgement then...lol
OUCH! Sounds painful! Hope Wyrm recovers soon. I haven't ridden my baby yet, so he still might have better riding skills than me. I can't judge mine until I started riding her. Off to take my Theory Test now
I was wondering after nearly getting taken out 3 times on the way home from the Theory test centre whether or not they were giving me some practice for the Hazard Avoidance part of my Mod1 which I shall be taking soon. I also had to do an emergency 'emergency stop'. How I didn't hit the guy (with my bike, not my fist...lol) I'll never know. I stopped about an inch from his front bumper. To be fair to the woman who tried her best to take me out on the roundabout in her husbands 4x4, her view was somewhat obstructed by the amount of eye make-up she had plastered on them! The 3rd incident was involving a rather confused woman who couldn't find a place to park in the Tesco car park. She decided that she would just drive around looking for the one remaining place which wasn't there. As she approached the 'give way' junction at each end of the parking bays, she probably thought if she paused and looked for oncoming traffic, she might miss an opportunity to park. So she just carried on regardless. Luckily for me, I noticed she was already looking towards the next lot of 'full' parking bays so I knew she wasn't going to stop. She blamed me for not looking where I was going!!! I told her I was going to suggest she drove a 'Smart' car but it would have been too ironic!
LOL Great attitude Sniper , think of it all as useful training. Smile at both their stupidity, and your ability to frustrate their attempts to clip you. Works so much better than getting all worked up & irate at the incompetance of drivers, I find.
I rarely get 'worked up'. I normally put 2 fingers to my eyes, then point them in their general direction at the same time 'mouthing' "Try looking where you are going!" I rarely do this to 'Old' people. They have much slower reactions and started driving when there were about 100 cars on the road in the UK, not just on the High Street. These incidents seem to occur more and more. I'm 'super aware' of the actions of 'MOST' motorists. I treat 'ALL' of them as complete morons. They are given the chance to prove me wrong. And I'm the first to 'congratulate' them if they pass my 'You are a complete moron' test. I still have plenty of medals to hand out...lol I have been blessed with 'lightning reflexes' which has saved me on many occasions. I do tend to 'mock' rather than abuse. I find it better to laugh at them than get annoyed at them.
I'm 49. Got hit by a car a few years back so I guess I'm lucky to be here. I was a pedestrian, not a rider...lol I managed to write the blokes car off with my head. Was pronounced 'dead' at the scene. My 'lightning reflexes' were obviously on holiday that day...lol I was like a rabbit caught in his headlights...lol
Just a reminder that this is the introductions forum peeps, an intro 9 pages long? New thread req'd I think.
Deegee I'm sorry too....im new too!! I'll have to write somthing up soon!! Wow...very lucky to be here. Surprised you biking but I guess biking is less scary than what you've been through!!
Well done on the Theory Incidentally on tyres, it's really easy to change them, you just ride to the tyre shop with about £250 and ask them to do it for you As DG says... best start a new thread
