Yeah. 12th Oct. I've passed the mock test on the Theory DVD the last 20 odd times. I bet I get all the questions I haven't seen yet. I'm now going through every question...lol
Some of the questions are ridiculous.

I'll let you all know how I get on. I really hope I pass so I can move onto Mod1. :)
I'm off for more practice now :)

    Got my registration through :)
Any clue as to what size plate to get? I was thinking of 7"x5" Am I likely to get pulled over?

Not as straightforward as you might think.

If you look at the rules it seems that there is no minimum size of plate as such BUT the characters have to be the prescribed size with the appropiate spacing.

  4. I've always used 7x5 plates and never had any problems with them, where I get my MOT's even passes bikes with them fitted.

Any smaller mate and I think you'll have issues with the law.

Well...I've had 2 plates made up. The 'official' size (May as well wear a sandwich board) and the 7"x5". Looks nice :) I might just stick it on a see what happens :)
Also...I was thinking of going to the Bike show at the NEC. Has anyone been there before. I want to get a decent set of leathers and boots. :)

The show is the place to get a bargain - there is always LOADS of end of line kit, last year's colours, that sort of thing - I usually buy my helmet there. Do remember that trying on leathers is a hassle and if you're hot and tired from walking around then you might not be in the best frame of mind to do it. That said, a bargain's a bargain... :D

Thanks Edski675. I will probably end up buying a load of stuff. I will defo get some leathers and boots. Probably get a new lid there as well. I've got a mate who is will to put the Jag design from the bike onto the lid for free :)
Might see if he can put it on the leathers as well :)
    Will you be going there?

Don't forget the London Excell bike show in feb if you're this end of the country, not normally as good as the nec but still as Ed says a bargain is a bargain. ;)

Normally free bike parking at the NEC, not sure about Excell though. Bit of a faff if you buy a set of paddock stands mind.

    lol.
    Can I ask another question?
At the moment i've got Pirelli Supercorsa SP tyres on the bike. I guess these are okay in the dry. What about if I get caught in a downpour?

My mistake. They are actually Pirelli DIABLO ROSSA CORSA tyres.

Yes but i don't know which date yet, cos I might need to be in Penzance again some time around then. You can't get much further away from Brum....

Your tyres are pretty awesome. They have softer compound on the shoulders and harder in the middle so that they are grippy in corners and don't wear out as fast on straight roads. They're very sporty tyres, good on track. As for in the wet, well I've never had them so I can't give a personal view, but all the reviews I've read of them rate them highly whatever the weather. Think you'll find that they really are a top piece of kit.

PS I sent you a PM, it's sat in your inbox.

Fantastic tyres on the track IMO, but not well liked on the roads. I have found them very skittish indeed in damp conditions, they seem to only like warm & dry.

The previous owner said best not to go over 60mph in the wet. He did mention, in the dry, they are like blu-tack :)
Maybe I will have to check the weather before I go out :)

I've done 90mph in pouring rain, at night, on the French Autoroute on those... but the back tyre did keep spinning up somewhat... so much so that when I got to the Chunnel I'd done 75 miles where my mates had only done 65!

How good are they in the dry Wyrm? :)
I would have to gain a lot more experience to get close to your riding skills

  19. They will out perform your abilities in the dry so nothing to worry about there, welcome to the site btw and good luck with the test, I too bought my bike before passing my test, I had monsoon weather on my test, it was lovely

Horrid. I'd dump them ASAP! I removed mine after 3 weeks and a few moments.

But I guess it's all in your head. I went with Metzeler Interact M5's worked for me on road and track.
