Been a while since I've posted. i got my self into a situation which now means I'm going to be off the road for over a year.
if I'm going to have to have it sitting idle my garage for a long period other than disconnect the battery is there anything else i should do?
my second option is to sell, I've not advertised but what do people reckon its worth? jan 2015 plate with about 2800 on the clock?

    thanks in advance

Sorry to hear about the ban :(

Surely it would make sense to sell it.

Its a sickerning feeling, i went back to my van to get my overnight bag out after a xmas works do, and made a snap decision to drive part of the way to where i was staying. Having never done it or even considered it before its feels surreal. Thankfully i didn't end up causing an accident.

Back to the bike, i don't know if to stick or twist. i feel thatif i sell it and buy one in a years time for the same money it will be a one year newer but could end up with a dog. If its left in a garage for over a year, will this cause problems itself?.

i paid £7,250 last july. I wonder how much i would get for it now. We buy any bike offered £5,500.

I think I would keep it personally for these reasons:

1 - Its only a year and that will fly by
2 - If you sell it now and get the cash you probably wont have it come next year when you want to buy one again
3 - If you were good and kept the cash you'd end up having to put money to it to get a new one
4 - Any new bike you get will be an unknown quantity, you know your bike
5 - The bike will cost you next to nothing to keep, insure it off the road, and SORN it. You'd have paid depreciation anyway

If you do keep it. You'd should really drain the tank completely, I'd probably leave the battery on it and plugged into an optimate. Change the oil and filter for fresh stuff, get the wheels off the ground, put it under a protective cover, heavily lube the chain and linkages.

If anyone is interested I'm now deceided that I will sell if I get a good/fair offer. Had its annual service in February and hasn't been rode since. Photos are on first page and is still in immaculate condition having been kept in my garage.
Upgrades include tail tidy, quick shifter, comfy seat, triumph brake reservoirs. Thanks Dal
