No Joe, mine's one of the rare fastest colour ones. ;))

Fwiw I think the Caspian Blue with it's gold wheels looks distinctly different & classier than the Yam, well IMHO it does anyway.

  3. I've got a Ducati now yes, I hated the colour of my Daytona 675r being white, genuinely hated the colour, so if I got another I would get a caspian blue and upgrade the suspension.

Red was my second choice for Daytona, loved the 2012 ones with the black fairing lowers.

You can probably tell red is my fav colour!

Suprised. I really like white. Is the ohlins suspension a much better upgrade then or just for track?

  5. Jeez, can of worms opened mate! I had the Ohlins RSU on my 2010 Daytona (there was one that was an official triumph accessory) and once I respring it, yes, it was just unbelievable!

The 2013r, yes, was just magic carpet good on the road straight from the box, the best thing was that I could put the condor settings on it and it would feel like an arm chair, slower to steer but comfy, and then put it in the race settings on track and the difference was unbelievable.

Some disagree that it's nicer on the road but I've ridden 5+ Daytona's now with different set ups and the standard 2013 'R' was brilliant.

If I was buying again, I would get the first generation 'R' model, because it's prettier and has more character but their pricey!

I hated white but look at the gold Bling ;-)

Just to prove though that I'm not an Ohlins whore and to throw a spanner in the works, I actually think my Showa BPF forks on my 899 are as plush on the road as my Ohlins were, just the rear that isn't as good on the 899

You certainly know your suspension! I wouldn't have a clue where to start with adjusting but thats for another thread ....

Appreciate the info. Depending how i get on with the tona i will probably end up changing it for a R in a couple of years. I like to mix things up

  7. I wouldn't mate, spend the money getting your forks revalved and set up for you £400 ish, and get a Nitron rear shock or used Ohlins. MUCH cheaper than buying an 'R'

I used to be a big lad so getting chucked out of the seat on the trash local roads wasn't a problem, then I lost 4.5 stone and now I'm really sensitive to suspension, hate being thrown around

The bike has been set up for the previous owner at a place in braintree but without knowing his size its possibly all wrong for me, im only 5,6 and 10 stone. that seems like a good option for beginning of summer. Starting to get expensive haha

We are blessed with a forum member who (apart from various other talents) spent a fair amount of time & diligence compiling information for the rest of us. So, some reading that you may well find extremely useful Joe.:

I live near that dealership and went to see that blue 675. This was a few months ago and i just though at the time it didnt justifly the price and back then they wouldnt move on the price. The fact its still there and not sold tells you something i guess. I know what you mean about colour. Colour is important. As soon as i saw a yellow one i knew that was the one for me. I also had 5k to spend and instead of going newer with miles on the clock i went with old with no miles. I ended up paying top end for My 06reg costing 4.9k but with just 2k on the clock and in showroom condition, I see it as a new bike at half the cost. I'm sure i paid more because it was scorched yellow lol
