Building a Daytona from a Street Triple Base

Discussion in 'Introductions' started by motorinmatt, Jan 3, 2013.

  1. Looking great so far matey...... :D

  2. Looks epic dude gotta love these projects as Hannibal from the A-Team used to say "I love it when a plan comes together" :D

  3. Indeed looking good, hopefully the clip on will turn up today or tomorrow (probably tomorrow)

Is the general consensus that the only difference between the Street and Daytona engines internally is the cams and pistons ? Are the rods deffo the same ?

Interested as I might pick up a spare engine for the track bike and street engine are more plentiful

  4. Looking good so far :) Keep the pics coming.

Will you be leaving the suspension standard or changing it later on in the project?

I shall be changing the suspension at a later date bud, but finances don't allow at the minute, main objective is to get it up and running for now as a mint standard ish bike, and the rest can come later, i have a few 'performance' parts left over from the last bike i had which shall be going on, some armstrong wavey discs, magura master cylinder and stuff, but unfortunately let my Nitron shock and 25mm Maxton Fork cartridges go when i sold the other Daytona :( looking at how much it would cost to buy some equivalent gear i wish i had stripped them out the bike now before it went.
