This is not a for sale thread, but looking for advice. I'm gonna be selling my D675 about mid august as im gonna be buying a 848 during the winter and want to get rid of mine before my insurance is due on 31st aug.

Now my problem is that my bike is quite modified , but can be put back to standard as i have all the bits. Which way would get most money? Sell as standard bike and then sell mods or sell as one?

Next question, is would a advert that read something like £5k as a standard bike and £5.5k with mods offend or put you off? Which pics wuld you use , the ones as it is now or the ones before i modded it?

    mods are

    TOR can and remap
    Single seat cowl
Pazzo shorty levers (black with gold)
    GB racing crash bungs
    r&g rear spindle protector
    triumph carbon tank pad
    triumph carbon exhaust end cap
    triumph carbon exhaust heatshield
    triumph carbon rear hugger
    RLA carbon front mudguard
    carbon chain guard
    carbon heel guards
    carbon tax disc holder
    supersprox sprocket
    09 arrow indicators
    Wheels powder coated gloss black
    Pirelli diablo supercorsa BSB's
    evotech tail tidy+small plate
    1050 throttle tube

  2. personally i'd take the bits off, you may get more for selling them seperately. but then you have the hassle of advertiseing them and posting the items. nice looking bike

Strip it and sell the accessories on eBay.

Both myself and a mate did the same with our Street Triples.

You generally get approx 60-70% of the value. Sometimes more! Work out what you would get if you stripped it down and look at how much you would get if you sold on the bike.

I for one would have your levers, chain carbon chain guard and possibly the front carbon mud guard.

Did I mention the carbon heat shield??? ha ha. Let me know when you're selling. If I haven't already bought them by then you will have a buyer!

IMO, the bike looks nice and tidy, so the extras left on the bike will add no value to it over another similar machine. Nor will they increase the value to sale or trade in, infact it can be used against you as these changes were your personal choices.

If you have the original bits, then i'd suggest putting them back on now, and sell all the bits off, most will go on here and for a reasonable return, unlike eb*y, and without commission charges etc.

I did that last time with my Speed triple, and sold the bits off. Instant money in your mittens.

If you do go this route, and i would advise it, can i have first dibs at some of your bits....

Still snowing up north?? Nice and sunny down here hehe

  6. As has already been said, I think most people tend to put them back to stock, as the extras don't add much value (crazy I know!)

Then you will be able to sell the extras and get a bit of money for them.

I would definitely be interested in the Seat Cowl, the 1050 Throttle tube (if you were taking it off) and the Pazzo's if Ozzer doesn't take them!

thanks for the comments guys. Yeh it sounds like the best way is to put back to standard and sell the bits seperately. Would you put the bike back to standard first, then take pics and advertise or so the advert with some current pics (no snow in these lol) and say the mods will be removed?

What sort of money is fair for a 06 8k miles 675 with mods that cant be removed- black wheels with nearlly new supercorsa tyres, tor can and map, carbon end cap, carbon tank guard. Just had 4 year big service at triumphworld, and MOT. The bike is still like brand new as ive had it since 2k miles and i mother everything.

I would put the bike back to standard first then take the pics. This would save you hassel if you get a keen eyed buyer that turns up expecting to see all the trick bit on the bike from the pics for his money. That way someone knows exatcly what they are getting.

You can then hit they with the old ...I have got a can for that if your interested..... you might end up selling them the bits anyway for extra wedge.

Take a look on bike trader that will give you a fair idea of the bikes value.

  9. Can I buy some parts please GB racing crash bungs and the evotech tail tidy?

    Thanks

Put bike back to normal, then pics, but i'd advertise the bits now, you'll have sold them by this weekend i bet. Then whip them off over the weekend before the sport, then post on Monday.. Im about to buy some of your bits, id like to buy them now!.....

Id like the Foot rest blanks and probably the Gb racing crash bungs.........

Someone on here was looking for the pointy indicators, sure it will all go...........BE QUICK THOUGH......

I would be interested in the Carbon Heel guards and Pazzo's

  12. Definitely take photos with the bike as you are going to sell it.

List the other items on this forum as they will definitely be snapped up.
