Hi, first time posting, apologize if I posted in wrong section.... Recently Im looking to get a 675 daytona and sell my cbr600rr... A friend's friend is selling his daytona, it is 57 plate 2008 black with gold wheels, full service history, MOT and taxed (duno when finished), datatool S4, Jardine slip-on (no standard can), R&G crash protections all around (include engine cases), integrated tail light (no standard tail light & indicators), 11500 miles on clock. Another one on market caught my eyes, it is 2008 Phantom black SE with gold wheels, full service history, MOT til July 2013, currently sorn no tax, arrow full system (duno which stage) with baffle (I think its a custom made baffle) and standard exhaust system will be handing over, re-mapped ECU for arrow exhaust system, colour coded genuine seat cowl (pillion foot pegs and seat included), CF heel plates + front mudguard, paddock stand bobbins, clutch cover sliding protector (duno which brand), stubby adjustable levers, 8770 miles on clock. They are asking me to make them an offer at start, but as I just started to get into daytona, so I don't really have an idea.... The 2nd one with arrow full system really attract me.... how much they worth and performance they improved? If I go inspect them, if there any specific things I need to check or ask the owner? I saw some threads talk about the rectifier or Exup valve failed on daytona....and some triumph official recall etc.... Any suggestion or opinion or guidance will be greatly appreciate...... Thank you very much indeed
The rectifier has now been subject to a recall. If the second one has a full arrow then the exup is removed. As for prices just compare prices or look at completed listimgs on fleabay. Sent from an Android
I had a 2008 bike, 08 plate, which I had largely put back to stock. Here it is in the dealer's: http://www.triumphwolverhampton.co.uk/c ... CC=675#eq1 They gave me only a small bit less in PX, there isn't much mark up on the bike. You'll note that I put the bike more or less back to stock and they didn't reduce the PX offer - the goodies don't add much to the price of the bike.
Apx (at this time of year) £4000 as a guess. The extra's unfortunately for both of them dont add anything extra to resale value but for you save a ton of cash. Up to you if you want to go higher or lower than that - you can check ebay advanced and look at sold bikes to see what they are getting.
ye...looked around the markets....same year with a bit more mileage than theirs, but almost completely standard is about 4.5 to 5k.....
Time of the year is driving prices down and mods are not worth much on the bike - so everything is in your favour. Offer 4k and see what happens. There are quite a few low milage ones on the market around 4.2-4.5k so I would say anything around 4-4.3k would be a fair price for one of those two you mentioned.
With the 2nd one make sure he has had the 8k service done or that will set you back another 300-500 Sent from my HTC Sensation using Tapatalk 2
ye offered him £4100 without road tax and I arrange a hired van to pick up at my cost, replied unacceptable :?
Find out about that service - if he hasn't done it tell him you'll give him more if he does it. Saves you the hassle right after you buy it. Also, he might have to get a reality check on his expectations, unfortunately winter time is not good for selling and D675's are finally starting to be more easily had for cheaper.
Ok, just sent him another email to ask about it, he wants 4500 with everything at first email, but trying to offer him 4250 now...
FFS matey THEY ARE ASKING YOU to make a first offer! With that id be very polite and tell em to p!ss off! There are shed loads out there - and on here for that matter, newer and with lower mileages also you know some history if from here. So lets think about this sales ploy the bike is worth 4.5k tops thats on a perfect sunny day when there is a line of buyers knocking your front door down for it to ride away. So in November, pre christmas, mid recession when the sales rooms are full of dispatched summer toys and the manufacturer has just released a new model they ask whoever shows interest to make an offer quoting that the bike has a load of extras but none of the original parts which means it WILL have to be sold with them anyway but you shouldnt be expected to pay for em, then if they (the buyer) throw a reasonable offer at you, put your poker face on and see how much you can squeeze them for as well as getting them to do all the running around after buying your over inflated bike - Taxing, servicing etc. and still they (the seller) are getting top shelf wonga for the bike - KNOBS!!! Looking at it this way who is doing who the favour and who is being stupid? KEEP your money in your pocket pal untill you find the right one at the right price also handing over wedge like that you would be better looking to a dealer who will offer a serviced bike with a warranty (unless a much loved forum members ex pride and joy!) There are more and more 675's on the market nowadays and you have a few months to choose at leisure before "Silly Season" start. Just my ten penneth pal! Good luck and choose wisely
update for rectifier.... he said he has been told and has the paperwork but hasn't done it yet, I assume if I turned up at any triumph official dealer with the paperwork I shall be fine? Closest triumph is Jack Liley for me.... and he said there is no 8000 miles schedule service on the book? last service at dealer was done at 6366 miles at 2010, then he did oil and filter by himself at 2011, but now he has new triumph oil filter and oil which was bought at September 2012 ready to go with the bike for 2012 annual service.... he is gonna get back to me about my final offer in a day or two....he wants to wait for reply from advertise elsewhere before any agreement. What Min said was really true and right, I got blinded and tunnel view by the thirst of getting a daytona after test ride it at dealer.....Thank you very much for waking me, Min
Sorry yeah - it's 12k not 8k: http://www.triumph.co.uk/media/Daytona6 ... rch061.pdf You're both doing each other a favour. It's balanced
That's not an answer - pictures, description of what you got, what you paid.... c'mon!! You cant give us half a story
