Cheers midge Mitch and mj, the 675r brakes and ohlins just dropped str in, bought the tripple clamps along with the ohlins forks from the states and at the time thought I had wasted my money buyin the clamps but it turns out I needed the lower R clamp as the ohlins fork legs don't taper in until above the lower clamp so the standard d675 lower doesn't fit the ohlins. Everythink else other than the exhaust has been straight 4ward, rad mounts had to be modded to clear the chunky down pipes. Mj, the bsts are the sexiest mod I've Eva seen! If they perform half as good as they look they'll be worth every penny!
Lil update, collected the bike lastweek after paying a rather large bill! Anyway suspension needs a Lil fettling but the power and noise is beautiful, she turns like a bmx, I'm well chuffed with it. She's makin 122bhp at the bk wheel with 54 ft torque
That's a nice power curve Lloyd. Do you notice a difference apart from the noise haha. Finally fitted the discs today along with some new pads, just need to try it out now
Hi mark, it just seems faster lower down and the brakes are amazing, it's impossible to say what's made the diff tho as I changed so much in 1go! Like the brakes- new lever, radial master, hel lines, brembos, armstrong wavy discs on bsts shod in thresh racetecs! Their awesome honest. Haven't forgot to enquire about those parts from the dyno place, gotta nip in this week to collect my receipt an paperwork. Did I read somewhere u have a big rebuild on the go?
yeah but it's all done now. my original bike was an insurance write off so could not go back on the road. it kind of niggled me abit only because i couldn't insure it really which meant if it went missing the money i had tied up in it i'd never get any of it back. i know the insurance is unlikely to payout it's true value but some money back is better than none. last year wilson on here was breaking his race bike that had never been registered so i bought the frame and engine off him. the engine had a problem with water getting in the sump after a lot of stripping down and quess work we finally found out that a gasket on the side off the water pump had failed how we found this out was a stoke of genius haha. first off we put the motor in my old frame blocked off the lower water pipes and filled the system with water, removed the sump as that was where the water was ending up. nothing not one drop. so left it over nite to see if any would come out. next day still dry so we need to pressurise the system but how, then it struck me we used a biycle tyre vale in one of the small hoses attached a hand pump and proceeded to pump it up and hey presto out came the water. luckly i had a spare pump as on early ones the o ring tend to fail. told you it was genius. your bike looks stunning enjoy the nice weather mate
