I am in the market for some tank side grips to protect the tank / grip onto with my leathers. Seen a few - techspec snake grips look alright (should look OK on a black bike). Any others I should consider? Also, which UK shops carry them? I keep finding US links., Thanks for the help folks.
Just wanted to show that I have these on my Daytona. Think you're making a good purchase if you go with them
If you want a better deal, buy the general sheet kit as it consists of 2 x large sheets, 1 x centre pad and templates for 8 different patterns. Speedycom as the UK importers
I read recently about leathers with the grip built into the inside of them, rather than stuck on the tank. Sounds like a good idea IMHO, but waiting for someone to say they have some & how they perform.
i used to really like stomp grips but they ripped your leathers apart. Then got some mega cheap chinese eazi grip copies for the Duke (because they came in red). I quite liked those. my 675 came with techspec C3 (the real thin leathery style) - they were rubbish. Brought a spare tank which came with the techspec snakeskin and I suppose they were alright, never really knew they were there, but never had any issues either. Now had the original tank resprayed and techspecs seemed expensive and hard to get so I have now (just this minute) put "real" Eazigrip pads on. I'm hoping to get back the "feel" I have with the Ducati. I'll let you know how they perform after the w/e.
These are tech spec snake skins. They come as a 3 piece and they're superb. I have stomp grips on my track bike. These are softer and therefor kinder on leathers
I didn't like the Tech-Spec...liked the Stomp-Grip even less (shredded wheat leathers)....I found the TS were great for gripping the tank when I wanted to grip it.....the downside was they gripped the tank when I DIDN'T want to grip it.
