you and a bunch of us are also looking for the same. haha. can pick a brand new set of wheels up for under 600 but still need the disks, cush etc. will be an interesting race to see who manages to bag the first set offered on here. lol
I am running a 2011 model front / disc on my 2013 non R track bike not sure if it ll work on the R model but went straight in mine using the 2013 spacers
I missed out on a pair £400 but couldn't get to Birmingham to collect them and I offered to send a courier he wasn't having any of it
Are the 13 wheels a lot lighter then the 12 wheels. And can the newer front be fitted to the early bike.
The 13/ wheels are weight shaving but this has an issue that they're apparently not as strong / crash resistant as the previous generation 2012 and prior
i dont think theres much to be gained fitting newer wheels to older bikes. more the other way, making it cheaper and easier to get wows for newer bikes. as there seems to be some confusion, i am just goong to have to give it all a try between my bikes next weekend or so.
No confusion, lots of benefit of fitting lighter wheels, rotating mass is always worth losing. All fronts will fit all bikes as long as you use the same age discs ie, 2006-2012 wheels need 2006-2012 discs. 2013 on wheels need 2013 discs. If you have these combinations they will fit an bike from 06-15. 06-08 wheels are heaviest, 09-12 lighter, 13 on lighter still. Rears are trickier, cush side is no problem any cush will fit any wheel. Disc side is more of an issue. All 06-12 are interchangeable and you can fit a 13 rear in 06-12s but you need to space the disc out, I used 2xabs pulsar rings found on the later bikes are ideal spaces as they keep the disc concentric. You may also need to shave the raised casting marks off the caliper carrier but this seems to vary bike to bike. The only one I haven't tried is an early rear in an 13 bike, but guess you'd need to machine the wheel to move the disc inboard or change caliper carrier. Simple!
I looked into fitting a 6-12 rear in my 13 and as said above the wheel would need machining after some measuring etc me and my engineer friend decide it wasn't worth the hassle / also you would lose a lot of thread depth for the rear disc
I've got a set for sale. Got front, fresh from powder in black and got a rear with disc and abs ring in original dark silver. Front needs new bearings and seals and no discs. Comes with some Metz recetec slicks Here some pics
Very informative! Thanks Do you need 09-12 spacers too in order to fit a 09-12 wheel into a 2013? Can you confirm that would fit in a 2013 675R ABS? what about the ABS ring?
I have a set of black ones with red pin stripe. They would be without tyres or front discs. Rear will be with disc and cush drive. All in nice condition. Would do 500 plus post Sent from my SM-G960F using 675.cc mobile app
