What resistor do I need to buy for the plug now the SAI has been taken off? I know it can be done with tune boy, can it also be done with pc3 or is the resistor the best way to go? Ta
I've removed mine completely mate, hoses plugs, all I did was blank of the breather pipe that goes to one of the throttle bodies. Removed from tune ecu and it's really simple, saves adding things on then removing them if sell bike or crash and they go missing XD
Tune ECU and disable it mate. The only thing you can't disable on the early bikes is the flapper, you have to leave the solenoid plugged in.
Ive got a resistor for the intake flapper, but I'll have a look at tune eco to disable the sai. Rather than fitting a blanking kit I've taken the pipes off the top of the engine and fitted some pipe bungs to the pipe outlets, should be ok. Cheers
On the 2006 Daytona bud you can disable the flapper as I've done so on mine, the opening squeak was annoying at 5k
My flapper on mine has packed up and the reed valves are vibrating making a annoying noise I don't really see the point to it
The actual flap itself is in the air duct When you read the map on tune Ecu, you click on map edit, can double click on the intake flapper, Sai, exup valve, idle control valve, etc on the left side of the window. This disables the selected items on the Ecu, then just click download map to Ecu. Will take pictures tomorrow when home Also you only need three vacuum caps to blank and remove the SAI the two reed cover hose caps and one on the left side of the air box
Because my airbox will (hopefully be at about 10psi I've blanked that off with a giant nut and bolt coated in tiger seal, but I've just got pipe caps for the reed cover outlets. I'll see if I can deactivate the system, not used tune ecu at all so will be a bit of fun... I put a resistor on the flapper control plug and removed the whole lot. The previous owner had a carbon race intake for his track fairing and I didnt fit it in when i fitted my carbon road one, and then the next time the fairing was off I found it all zip-tied to the side of the bike! It's all gone now..
