I did the Chris Walker school last year, it was a good day up at Mallory, the sessions with Jamie Whitham were funny, as well. Just a real shame our super hot laps at the end were wet.

    Good day out. http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=5cH2H7E33xg

You do it in pairs, my partner was Bratty (Tankslap) an my instructors was Dave Johnson (bmw s1000) racer last year Bsb SS.

I would like to do Mallory again that's for sure.

That is so kind of you thanks Jo! I do need to get a tow bar might make the Mrs fit it to her car instead so that it doesn't ugly up mine hehe.

That sounds like a lot of fun Frankie was it more expensive than RH? Also what were the pit lane girls like? I hear they come to greet you a reception hehe.

I would like to do Oulton Park but just worried that niether of my bikes would make it through noise testing up there I suppose if I was that bothered I could just hire a track bike for the day.

    Daytona 675 Add-on list

'Painted black' Dolly is now better setup solely for trackday use:

    - TranX 260DP wired transponder (no rental fee & MyLaps history)
    - SES Lock stop plates (less damage when coming too close to tarmac ;))
    - exhaust 'exup'- (redundant emission part) removed and intake -valves disabled
    - removed cat (+full arrow tune!; better breathing 4 better torque+ few bhp's?) => 104dB with LV slipon!
    - colder NGK CR10eix Sparkplugs
    - stronger thermostat (durability engine; P/N:T1210139)
    - oil pressure sensor change: lower pressure to suit constant high trackrevs (durability engine; P/N:T1210212)
    - front sprocket change from Renthal 16t >vkw 15t (better acceleration out of corners)
    - carbonized 'race' brake pads front (better stopping & feel, but less mileage)
    - manual CCT (A9618060; replaces vulnerable 06-08 spring only setup: rigidity/ durability)
    - t3-racing.co.uk black glass-fiber bodywork w. transparent double bubble (weight saving, repairable/ less costly to replace; better wind protection)
    - extra set wheels with rain tires (guaranteed track time against all odds!)
    - 7 Clicks GP Adjustable Folding levers from the2wheels.com (optimal adjustment, less prone to damage & mucho cheaper than currently installed 'bling' CNC Triumph branded shorties)
    - Racing Lever Guard Protector from the2wheels.com (safety; cheap)
    - Showa/Triumph OEM front suspension fitted with linear Wilbers race springs and custom setup (shimmed) by HK Suspension for my weight and race use (much better stability/traction)
    - Ohlins S46PR1C2LS (A9640018) rear suspension and custom setup by HK Suspension for my weight (much better stability/traction and easy change spring preload for wet tires)
    - Triumph SpeedTriple (S3) throttle mod (more progressive throttle response)
    - K&N airfilter (better breathing/ durability/ better torque plus few horses?)
    - LeoVince Slipon (weight saving/ better torque curve?) or OEM if dB rules track are too tight (<104dB!)
    - GBracing.eu crash-pads, chain-protector, paddock-stand bobbins (safety; less damage in case of low-sider; req. when jiffy removed)
    - Stompgrip traction pads (less burden on forearms with heavy braking/ more control)
    - Accossato AGPR025 rearsets (fixed pegs for better control & stability/ fully adjustable)
    - Tsubaki X-ring Gold Chain (standard pitch) on Renthal steel front sprocket(*) and Renthal Hard-Anodised rear sprocket (stronger pre-stretched chain than OEM O-Ring type and lighter sprockets)
    * Triumph double bubble 'Aero' smoky windscreen (more space to hide my 6ft+ body behind when racing down the straits)
    - Triumph carbon rear hugger, -cockpit infill panels(*), - tank protector (spray protection shock; weight saving/ bling)
    * Triumph low profile gel seat (really stiff enough to retain feel yet comfortable)
    - Triumph CNC preload adjusters front suspension (easy dail dry to wet setting)
    - Triumph CNC oil filler cap & -dipstick (oil level indication for racing (=higher!))
(* - removed again in favor of racing parts)
    - misc removed: horn, side-stand
    [IMG]

As many said before esp. with a gradual road2race conversion: it's sensible to improve gear in parallel with own skills, latter is in the end most important asset, fun and justification... else it's just bling! ;)

Well just talked to mechanic who's also racing and maintaining bike of an ONK racer (OpenDutchChamp.) here's what he had to say in my words:
    - oil cooler mod: It all has to do with your race ability e.g. rule of thumb: if you are racing within +25% or faster of laprecord of any track, race under hot circumstances (type track a/o climate) than oil cooler mod is in his opinion sensible. else: waste or future investment if potential is guaranteed.

    - cam chain tensioner: if bike has already considerable mileage(?) a/o older spring-only tensioner (pre-hydraulic) AND race it primarily more than occasional track-day: definitely yes. He said he saw quite a few dented/ bad belts in the years simply because belt skipping the tiny sprocket-tooth guide is likely under heavy load a/o stretched chain/ -tensioner spring...

I'm just the messager. Anybody with direct know-how?

sounds about right what hes saying and me personally am racing next year which i why il be doing the oil cooler mod because have also been made aware that the 06-08 suffer from oem problems also will be changing the c.tensioner to a manual one for obvious reasons that have been pointed out the auto one simply cannot hack being abused haha
thank you for those p.numbers il look into the products and decide if il be converting :)

The oem 06-08 CCT couldn't stand normal road riding without failures, any track work with consistent high rpm on/off throttle action will cause it to fail. This is why the >09 bikes had the new design cct for oem fitment not just race parts.

Yep, should have said, apologies for that.

If it makes us feel any better, Honda had exactly the same problems with the cct on the CBR600 range for years and guess what? It was the same stupid ratchet design as the 06-08 Triumph cct, we may knock Triumph at times, but at least it didn't take them 15+ years to fix an obvious fault. Fwiw my Brother is a mod on a Honda forum and runs a CBR600, hence I have an inside line on it. ;)

guys, as said is my Tdealer currently modding Dolly into a 'stage2' racing vamp. Besides the above listed track changes they're also suggesting to remove the cat from OEM piping for better breathing together with her LeoVince slipon.

What are your experiences with removing cat? Should we now load full arrow tune instead or leave 'slipon only' tune in ECU to accommodate better breathing?
Or even better have it custom remapped instead?
