I am looking into buying some tank protectors which cover the side corners (like in the photo), but I want some cheaper ones, not carbon made, coated with panda tears. The straps of my tank bag are eating through my paint.

Any ideas/recommendations on how to protect the paint?
Is helicopter tape a good ideea to be applied instead of the protectors in the photo?

Have you got a photo of your tank bag fitted? And the marks its leaving?
Helicopter tape would be good but would be difficult to apply to the complex curves that the carbon one is shaped for.

I guess they used panda tears because I cant see any other reason to ask 80£ for those.

If you saw @Hazza's thread looking for non carbon frame protectors, the only answer was to buy carbon ones (because that is the only material that you can shape and is protective).

The carbon also has Kevlar in the weave for wear resistance, I believe.

  7. The Kevlar and carbon are separate, Kevlar on inside and CF on top of it.
