Dani has not only showed what a great racer he is but the way he has carried himself has been excellent and he has come out of the whole recent shenanigans as a true gent. Will actually be hoping he does well next season
And at the same time he's stayed neutral, made some fitting remarks without going too far, remained on friendly terms with everyone is this whole mess wich is a feat in itself.
Rossi after the race : Valentino Rossi makes an incredible charge through the field for fourth in the Valencia GP. The opening five laps of the Gran Premio Motul de la Comunitat Valenciana were some of the best of Valentino Rossi’s (Movistar Yamaha) career, the experienced Italian cutting through the field. He would eventually end in a respectable fourth place, unfortunately with teammate Jorge Lorenzo taking the victory Rossi was unable to claim his tenth World Title. The 2015 MotoGP™ will always been remembered as one of Rossi’s best, coming back from several tough years and proving that even at 36 years old he’s still a threat. Valentino Rossi: “We build this season from the first race, and at the end it was anyway a great season. I was always competitive and never make any mistakes. I think that after Motegi I have the potential to win the championship but unfortunately from the race in Phillip Island something changed and in these last three races we saw something that we never saw before in our sport. “I think that the situation was already bad, but today was embarrassing for everybody because it was unbelievable, the behaviour of Marquez is something very bad for everything, especially for the sport. It is something that nobody expects, because a Honda rider that made a Yamaha rider win and give the maximum just to push out his teammate is something that nobody expect and I think it is very, very bad news. Anyway, it is like this, we have to accept. “I am happy because now everybody see what I said in Australia and I don’t understand the behaviour of Marquez but sincerely for me it is very difficult to say something to him because I hope that he will understand what he did in these last three races in the future of his career. “For sure the Hondas were faster. We know that in the second part of the race Honda have a better potential but Marquez just protect Lorenzo like he did in Phillip Island and also Sepang. At the end I think that also Lorenzo have to not be very happy, as it is not a Championship that was won on track. But anyway is memories.”
I will need to rewatch the race as I felt like Dawn of the Dead when it finished at 2:45am. Nice one Danny Kent and well played Olivera (Ono you're a dickhead mate). Looking forward to seeing them both going at it in Moto2 next year.
Yep, getting sick of this handbags stuff in MotoGP!! I don't see it, I can't see that Marquez 'let' Lorenzo win, I'm not sure of anything any more!
Yeah it's great but if he wants to get on in MotoGP he is going to have to change his name to Dani Kentuez
I watched the race again and it looked like MM was about to go for a pass when Dani came that then screwed everything up. Cal talking sense publicly stating the Honda's weaknesses of exit grip meant it was hard to line up a pass. Rossi is just embarrassing himself now he's gone a bit Heather Mills McCartney. Kid idolises you, kid beats you, you publicly humiliate kid, what exactly do you expect kid will do next?? Rossi demonstrating exactly why I like racers who just get on with racing and have no time for media shenanigans or enhancing their personal brand. Stoner. Jorge. Spies.
I really feel blame falls on both sides Rossi and MM, had Rossi not reacted how he did we would have had a different race. I do believe MM was just shadowing JL, not how I like to see a championship won or lost but as they say that's racing.
I think it all comes down to should a professional athlete in an individual sport (when on track) be relying on other competitors to help him attain a goal. Especially after he has publicly bad mouthed them?? Would you expect help from someone, or if they were capable of it their full wrath if you publicly shame them. Rossi really only has himself to blame and I think he knows that deep down when he sits alone with his thoughts. Had he not come out after PI with those accusations none of this would have happened. Fans can blame whoever they like it won't change the result. It won't change the fact that if Honda have it got it right with the electronics and Michelins, Marquez will annihilate the field on Tuesday. I take my hat off to Dani Pedrosa. He deserves a title based on the humility and grace he has shown this season in the face of huge adversity.
Dani has show that he is above all the crap and in press interviews and on track kept it all professional, a very good racer. I think Rossi rode well today to start from the back and work through the field shows he still has got the passion still there to race and ride. It's just a shame how a good season has ended, don't think the media have helped as only helped to stir the pot
He's not taking it well hasn't shown up to MotoGP awards and this video https://twitter.com/btsportmotogp/status/663465903451860992 I just wish he would have some grace in defeat. Calling it a hollow championship for Jorge is an insult to him and Yamaha. I'm sure the Japanese brass will not be happy about this. This is the ugly side of Rossi and I hate it. If this was anyone else they would already be branded a moaner. In the past Rossi's mind games and media outbursts/comments/manipulation worked to his advantage as he would then pulverise his opponents as he was better than them. The difference now and I think why we are seeing this is that he knows Jorge and Marc have the measure of him. Colin Edwards always said "Valentino is your friend until you start to beat him" I know there's loads about marquez and Jorge's secret pact but consider 6 months ago they hated each other. I believe for MM its more a case of keep your friends close but your enemies closer.
the same must surely apply to MM then? who was it who said "your true class (or lack of) only really comes out when you’re losing"? #93 started losing for the first time and his lack of class came shining through pretty clearly imo motogp's been tainted but maybe that's a good thing, i hate all that lovey dovey racing where they pat each other on the back for losing - you may as well fuck off to wsb if thats what youre after bring on next season, bigger better and nastier please
how many "hollow" championships has Rossi had where he's had special tyres shipped in over night. just acting like a spoiled brat 'cos he didn't get his own way.. if Rossi had accepted the defeat and got on with preparations for next season then I "might" still have an interest in what he does, but to keep on bitching the way he is then I hope anyone bar Rossi wins the championships from now till he f@cks off and takes all his snivelling fanboys with him.
David Emmett on the fucking money again https://m.motomatters.com/analysis/2015/11/09/2015_valencia_sunday_motogp_round_up_how.html
