I'm running around 36 in the back at the mo, now that the tyre has 1k miles on it it seems to be 'walking around' a lot on rough surfaces so am going to try lifting it to 38-40 to see if its worse or better. Yeah it came with 42 or something like that in it!
surely this is tyre dependant as well? my dunlop d211 run about 6psi less than my supercorsas because of the construction
Bingo! On a more 'normally' contructed tyre i'd run mid to low 30's at both ends, on dunlop n-tecs (sportsmart or 211's) I'd drop the rear pressure right down as low as 28 or so, and down to about 23 (cold) for the track. To state pressures without stating what tyres you're using is a bit misleading, and at the end of the day, it's all about personal preference. Certainly running them too high is going to cause the tyres to wear a good bit quicker though.
