As above, I've bought, fitted and tried this, total cost under £30!

This involves very little effort, or skill.

Order a tracker, I went with Amazon £16.99

Then a trip to Tesco, to buy this sim, they do two, you need this one, as it doesn't have any data allowance, now buy a £10 credit at the same time, from the self serve till, sim will be free, self serve gives you a top up code on the receipt.

    That's all the expense £26.99

Now pop the sim in an old phone, full size sim, and get it working, i.e. Send yourself a text once you've added the £10 credit, 16 digit code iirc.

Now to install the tracker, pop the sim inside, use the tiny screws to hold it together, and connect the two power cables to the bikes battery.

Wait for the three lights and your done!

I popped mine under the pillion seat, popped the tracker inside a balloon to keep it dry, cable tie it so it doesn't rattle, bit of electrical tape on the wires, boom.

Now when you text the sim this code: smslink123456 it will send you back its location.

Two examples from today, once you get the text back, takes about 10-15 seconds, comes back as a Google Map link, press the link and:

Ok, it won't say when it's been stolen, but it will say where it is, as often the bikes left a few roads away, to check for trackers etc. And for sub £30, worth while in my head.

Only thing you need to do, is to text the sim once every 6months, or Tesco will void the number

So store the sims/trackers mobile number in your phone, as Daytona, or RX, etc

    Simples :)

Obviously will work in your car, van, anything with a battery :)

  3. I would move it mate. That's the first place they look trust me. I seen many a bike with the seat ripped up to find a tracker.

  4. How much battery will it draw though when you're not riding it

Here's a pic from the distractions.

It states after 5 mins it goes to power save mode and the led lights also go off, to look stealth hehe.

The distractions aren't fab, hence my simple install, it seems other functions area available, but I've not worked them out, and to be honest, I'm happy with how it is for now.

If someone more tech than me can work the converted from who knows language to broken English, I'm up for it :)

TTD, is that a big drain? Mine sits on a charger, so not a buggy for me.

Depends what you mean by high! Very very roughly it'll flatten the battery in about 2 weeks!

Doesn't say what it draws in power save mode.

I doubt mine will ever be 2 weeks if of a charger, and not in use.

Good to know. 22mA huh, who knew.

Would highly recommend a tracker, I pay monthly for mine and I'll get the text or a phone call to let me know the bikes moved or the battery is low.

For those on a budget I'd get one.

Would relocate it if you havent, I fitted mine and it involves stripping the bike to locate

  14. Nice one and I have ordered one to give it a whirl.
