Hi guys, I am new here but raced a 2013 675r for the past year.

I saw a couple of threads asking what to do to their 675r for the track. This is my experience so far...

The stock ohlins suspensions are great, I would not spend money there apart from a good specialist rebuild and using the adequate springs for your weight.

I just have the correct sprocket ratios for the track we go to and a 520 chain. A full exhaust system (decat) and currently ended up with stock mapping as I removed the pc5 as it was causing me problems. Bike runs great above 7k from so did not really effect me much. Fibreglass race fairing and front subframes together with an ohlins top mounted damper. I use ebc race only pads and Pirelli supercorsa v3 sc2 front and sc1 or sc0 (depending on conditions) 180/60/17 rear.

So far apart from that the bike is stock and is good enough to run consistently with the top 5 in the fastest group. Love the bike and was wondering what the next step would be as well

I love the fact that it is super reliable, and still has enough power to keep up with most 600s in the straights unless they are running a fully tuned engine. So a bit hesitant to touch the engine. Was wondering if anyone reprogrammed the stock ecu?

Put the PC5 back on with the ignition module also. Get a proper exhaust system not just decatted standard headers. Plus a set of velocity stacks

The velocity stacks work? I was always curious about them, so am really looking forward to try them.

I got a proper full system, and a BMC air filter... was thinking more or a reprogrammed ECU so I avoid extra wiring as this was my second time that I had problems with the PC5. Anyone managed to get the ecu reprogrammed? I know it is available to pre 2013 bikes but so far no luck for my bike.

Yes that is your problem because it’s a 2013 onwards I think the PC5 is probably your best route to go down.
You will almost certainly be losing out running stock mapping, I have put similar mods on to you and had a 675 remapped for great gains.

Stacks do make a difference when combined with all the other gear.

If I’m honest with you also the stock ohlins may be better than the original suspension but there is a reason that all races get rid of them straight away. They are an upgrade to the stock stuff but it’s all built to spec stuff for triumph. I’ve seen people go silly fast on the stock ohlins stuff but if they were converting the bike to race they would get rid and put on proper ohlins or one of the other top brands.

Thanks Bigmac, if there is no other route but the pc5 and ignition module I will have them refitted properly together with the velocity stacks.

As for the shocks, those may not be the latest top of the line ohlins but they are a ttx rear and Nix30 front shocks which is much better than the usual factory ohlins stuff they put on road bikes. I race mostly on what are considered rough tracks, with humps and bumps and I cannot really complain. Let's put it this way... they are not a priority to change on the 675r. At least from my experience. I might try one with better shocks and say what a difference!
