yesterday I was in the car in a queue of traffic on a dual carriageway, both lanes solid. The offside started moving but dozy idiot next tome was texting so didn't see the traffic start to move. When quite a gap had opened I gave a short toot on the horn and when idiot looked up, i pointed forwards. His response was to lower his nearside window and yell a torrent of abuse, I'm part deaf but even I head 'fucking dickhead, who the fucking hell do you think you are, the bloody police or something' amidst a whole lot of other shit. Moron. Ed
Yep that sounds like him. Except my one deliberately hit me. Hey ho, all part of the fun an that
I hear you, all I'm saying is that if you'd have waited an opportunity would've presented itself. Then give him a hand signal as you passed him. I guess maybe I'm older and not in such a rush. Plus I don't ride to work, I drive a dented white van Steffydog
You guys, calm and slow down a bit Let's face it we do not own the road, and we have to share it with complete fuckwads who don't really care for us, or other road users tbh, and that's just how it is, I take that into account before turning the key on car or bike. Steffydog.
i cant have explained the scenario properly i did wait for him - i had to he was on his phone and looking down
Taking the fact that the roads are full of fucktards is one thing. Deliberately hitting you up the rear is a act of aggression and you best be prepared for the consequences.
I think a lot of this upset stems from the fact that a Biker is a lot more exposed than the idiots in their metal cages ( yes i am one of those). care and attention to the road and what’s going on around you without distraction is a thing of the past, as soon as the mobile phone / SatNav / DVD / computer etc were invented and put into a car well all hell has broken loose, coupled with the fact that we have driving schools just churning people out that can barely pass a car test we get a lot of people that are careless about other members of the driving population. With the Van driver being rather ignorant in the first place or that he had half expected the OP to just pull out on him meant he didn’t give a flying... when the OP challenged the fact that he wasn’t paying attention to the road as he should it looks like is animalistic behaviour took over and he got upset . The OP could have handled it in a different way but when your sat in traffic and your pride and joy gets bumped by some rather stupid individual even i would feel aggrieved, and would have got my own back.
Got to be honest on my regular commute I see a few idiots in cars every day. But I see just as many self righteous idiots on two wheels here in London. I think, proportionally, there are as many complete arsewipes on bikes as there are in cars. I do tend to be more tolerant of drivers doing the odd dumb thing simply because they are cocooned in thier cars but the bikers have no excuse.
Yesterday a policeman reversed back into my van on a petrol forecourt. Let him off, as he just scuffed the paint, as I reversed back quick enough to stop him taking it off altogether, then on the way home I saw policeman in a van on his phone doing over the speed limit. There's no hope trying to stop all the other plebs who are at it?!
I see a lot of wankers on bikes over here. I have a few mates in a handful of groups who I ride with but I'm very selective. The local forums are full of them too - blokes who are utter plebs. That's why I come in here
