Guys, there are important messages here, pros and cons, but let's have respect for each other at least! I for one would have taken a different course of action, but certainly don't pass judgement on the OP. One thing I am grateful for is that I don't commute on the bike! Trophy and Triple!
Ignoring the rights and wrongs the OP describes, insulting posts will be removed and please bear in mind this is a Confessions Box, it is not a coconut shy with anonymous members in it to take pot shots at or hone your trolling skills on, we can and will remove this section if members treat it as such. Play nice folks, pretty please with a cherry on top and don't make us take this part of the site down, it can and does work in the right circumstances as we all know. Thanks for reading, DG.
To be honest I’ve had time to reflect now on whether I’d change my reaction in hindsight and the answers, no, would I fuck. I’ve actually got my fingers crossed I see him tomorrow morning as well. Mods, feel free to lock the thread
That aint big and it aint clever, you acted like a class A knob. You seriously need to contemplate going to anger management classes and sorting yourself out. The van driver was wrong to touch your rear tyre but fuck me, he didn't deserve a pasting for it. Biker or not, I hope he took your reg number and you pay for the consequences of your actions.
Wow ... You really telling someone to get therapy because they have had enough of tossers on the phone .... Not looking and not in control of their vehicles every day.... You're telling me you having snapped once ...... Total bollocks !!!
No not really, I'd look for the same people again to see if their on the phone again not paying attention ... And I'd do it again... They are putting a bikers life in danger every time they pick the phone up so they need to learn..
I'm on the road all day, 5 days a week and clock up around 45k miles a year so I'm not someone that drives to Tesco and back at the weekend. I've seen a lot of twats driving using their phone and many of them not on the phone but still act like they own the road. Have I snapped once? No. I've given the odd wanker sign to someone who's not looked and cut me up but what's the point in the amount of hostility that you've shown? Do you think he'll think twice before doing it again? Chances are he won't and during his journey he more than likely took it out on other road users (which they have you to thank for) What's going to happen when he comes across another bike? Do you think you taught him a lesson? You've probably turned him in to someone that will do his up most to piss bikers off in the future
He didn't take my reg number because he was too busy on his phone and trying to deliberately knock me off and I really I don't care what you think about me or my actions mate. Genuinely. I felt the need to vent somewhere earlier and it's passed so thanks for listening and your sage words, as always.
He clipped my back wheel that's why I flipped. He was already on his phone when I went to leave the garage. If I flipped out on everyone I saw on a mobile phone i'd never get out of the town I live in.
I suppose it comes down to whether you think the consequences of what you're doing (injury, ban, fines or a stretch in HMP) are worth it.
Peeps, we don't intervene here unless absolutely nec. Anonymity does not justify abuse. As DG said earlier, let's keep it nice. Ed
It's very difficult to justify the actions here, cars and bikes are fucking dangerous things, what I would have done is stood at his van and taken a load of shots of him on his phone and reported it to the police. Then I would have got a load of shots with his business name on and posted it all over the web asking if people wanna do business with someone like that. What u chose to do is frankly scary, you are going to destroy people's lives or your own with those sort of actions. I am fairly confident u genuinely don't care, I think that's even more worrying.
Trouble is the person in the van dosn't care either, taking photos to the police is less than useless as tbh they're to busy trying to catch you out speeding . Put him on the web he'd probably become an over night famous nobody like the big brother lot, some times you just have to take things into your own hands just so you can feel that at least they will think twice before doing it again . The op did what he did and I for one agree with him , that deliberate nudge to the rear was dangerous and meant as intimidation so the van driver got what he deserved
If someone potentially puts your life in danger and the police aren't interested what are u supposed to do just sit there and take it until they eventually cause u serious harm, I don't think so. Buzz675
I say fair play to you, and it's true the police won't do a thing until something serious happens. Yeah you were a bit silly for damaging the van in front of eye witnesses but you know the consequences and when you lose your temper sometimes you really don't give a fuck and I hope he thinks twice in future.
Seems as if this whole situation stems from the fact that you were leaving a petrol station, and you were to impatient, and had the believe that it was somehow your right of way to be let out!? My advice would have been to wait a moment, a gap or considerate driver would've let you out, then you're fine to crack on. Just my thoughts, and what I'd have done. Steffydog
Not at all mate, I was leaving the petrol station and he was looking down at his phone while sat in slow moving traffic I didnt want to pull out in front of him til I had his full attention. Hence the palm outstrecthed in a "what are you doing are you going to let me out or what?" kind of gesture. That was when he started to get all upset - like a child who'd been caught with their hand in the biscuit tin.
