Anyone had any issues with one of these? I know Midgey has one similar, anyone else? http://houstonsuperbikes.com/i-1029...gale-stealth-fender-eliminator-tail-tidy.html
Mine isn't quite like that as it is still mounted behind the rear wheel.. just Although it is literally JUST my plate and nothing else. Never had an issue. Some bikes never grow old! by midgey46 posted Jun 12, 2015 at 11:29 AM
do you now what the legal requirements are mate? is it just that your plate is visible to the cameras?
My mate is running a letter box plate just next to his shock, ( his blade is daytime only ) and not had issues but we don't like twats on road. But I've seen a mate get pulled over for something like this. To be fair as long as the police can see it from a set distance it's fine . My plate is 4x5 and not had issues
Are you going to change to the integrated rear tail light with indicators built in then? If so be careful that the indicator flash is separate to the main light (some stupidly alternate) and then u can just run the plate on its own.
im not sure what im going to do with the indys yet mate (they ARE horrible) definitely getting rid of the mirrors at some poiint in the very near future just undecided on the rears
been pulled many times for small plates, long thin plates, tinted plates etc. i'd imagine you'd get a bit of attention with a plate like in the op. not worth the agro, and it just gives plod an excuse to check everything else.
Went to Cadwell a few years back for BSB. 4 of us. 3 had smaller but readable plates but one mate had a mars bar size plate. He got pulled 4 times in total (3 on way in and one on way out). On first pull he was given a producer and he had to show this each time, but it was an absolute ball ache keep stopping. He tried to give copper some attitude on 3rd pull. The copper asked us to speak to our mate advising him to drop the attitude. They weren't worried about any of the noisy exhausts just the plate. These were all bike cops not car ones. I have 7x5 and never had problem. Just think you are asking to be pulled with a plate like that and from past posts I know that you have a tendency not to be the most laid back person
I got pulled with tail tidy on the 675SE and the 675R. I'll never buy one again. Not worth hassle. That CW one looks quite easy to make as it attaches tot he pillion peg mounts. THen just some aluminium to cover what you remove off the back. You'll have to take the heatshield off too and then you'll need an ice pack for you balls in summer.
FWIW the CW one is a step too far for me, I personally think the Bruudt one with 1199/1299 LED indicators and a 7x5 plate would be the best all round option
Personally I would say stay away from it Red especially as we all.know you use the dreaded M25 everyday on your bike is it worth the trouble?
