Bought a link pipe also as I know mines seen better days round by the clamps ... an hour and half of graft it's come up well ... 20 quid well spent.

    Chain and sprocket kit also...

Can someone remind me the size of the nut please on the front sprocket ???

    Cheers. Screenshot_20241113_110902_eBay.jpeg 20241113_110519.jpeg Screenshot_20241107_190432_eBay.jpeg

Hi Sean, the front sprocket is 36mm
Without wishing to appear patronising (because I expect you will already realise) it is wise to loosen that nut first, whilst the chain etc is complete and everything is secure. That enables you to lock it off using a 50x50 softwood brace more easily. In my experience it's likely to seem very tight, even with the locking washer properly flattened.

Nice job on the link pipe . I agree wholeheartedly with @StMarks on the best way to loosen. The front sprocket nut on my STR needed a half inch drive breaker and a 4 foot extender pipe to break free after the previous job had been done up to about 400.nm . Good luck

Have you repaced the head gasket on it in this time?
    How many exhaust manifolds?

i replaced engine at 20k due to split casing from stretched chain.
    This engine is 80k.

Same head gasket. Same clutch. Same cct.

    2nd exhaust manifold
4th rear engine mount bolt, the long one.
    2 stators, 3 reg/recs.
    2nd radiator
    2nd set of forks

you are a legend! Mine has only 33k, but:

    2nd head gasket
4th or 5th stator, lost count
3rd RR (fried one mosfet by shorting starter solenoid to ground)
    3rd exhaust manifold
    2nd shock (installed this weekend)
    -1 SAI
waiting for new fork springs now.

I shall watchout for that bolt!

675 is known for stator issues, but was advised to keep oil topped up to top all the time, and not let it run long period lower down the dipstick, and this one has lasted a while.

my sprint is 111k miles still on same clutch etc, and just had its first stator change (2nd reg/rec change though)
