If Sea Shepherd continues on what they're doing in the manner that they're doing it someone is going to get killed and it's not going to be a whaler. They're the poster child for recklessness on the high seas, launching little inflatable RIB's on over the horizon missions with no reliable ways of communication, and have lost contact with their RIB's on more than one occasion! I've grown up on the water and the first thing that was instilled in me was the fact that one should always fear and respect the sea, these guys are treating it like a playground with no sign of respect. They are riding on a publicity campaign right now and might end the whaling as well, but the way they operate will cost them a life sooner than later.
Good entertainment this thread... No whale is worth more than a human being, if you have morals acceptable to the general population. Although sadly that includes "fabulous" honest folk like "uncle" bobby Mugabe, vlad "I'm not gay because I take my shirt off" Putin and any of the western "pot, don't call the kettle black" politicians with exceedingly short memories of Afghanistan, Iraq and 40 years of Cold War and constant threat of nuclear Armageddon, yet we're willing to help create a political crisis with a nation armed to the teeth with nukes (WW1 started over little Serbia...), although the Russians are being classic with plants in their news stories with the same person interviewed as a housewife, teacher, nurse etc. I remember star fighters etc doing Mach 1+ at rooftop height and all the German kids checking each and every time to see if it was the Russians... And that "gorby" was a hero to all. If you don't remember the mid 80s try watching threads tonight on you tube.... My £1 always does and will go to the homeless, the local baby unit, the orphans, the big issue seller or school fete before any free loading animals... Pudsey bear is the anomaly. I do like the Japanese camouflage "scientific research" painted on their ships as they attempt to find out what explosive tipped harpoons do to whale blubber... and that they are Eco-friendly and "recycle" the whales when they get back to Yokohama etc. How can the environmentalists not like that? Research and green too!! In all seriousness, there are bigger issues in life, there are hidden agendas to everything (Ukraine, ALL SIDES are pushing their agendas and the normal person suffers) and most, if not all if us are hypocrites - part of being human. Allegedly. I just like riding bikes, seeing my kids laugh and reading amusing things on this forum!
