Hi folks, finally got my Daytona/765RS project race bike started today and the rev counter worked for a second or two and then no more.Does anyone know if the rev counter is linked to the crank position sensor??I am asking this as I accidentally cut the wires for this when installing a race generator and as a result had to do some amateur soldering of wires, could this be cause??
Look forward to hearing from someone who understands electrickery better than myself.

I don't know, however fwiw when my CPS failed I do not recall any issues with the rev counter.

When my CPS failed the rev counter was one of the few things that did work!

Definitely not the CPS then.Cheers for that mate.Actually nothing is being registered on the clocks at all.Gear position/rpm/temperature/mph.
The bike starts and runs(finally).I am using an SCS Delta 400 ECU that I thought was plug and play but seeing as nothing is registering I guess I need to plug it into my laptop and switch various functions on.
I tried another set of clocks yesterday and it made no difference.
Not that at home with the modern digital world but I will have to bite the bullet and give it a try.

Problem solved, had to download software and plug the bike in and call SCS.Really helpful guy talked me through what I could see on my laptop and what to do.
ECU and clocks now recognize each other and communicate.Well the rev counter/temperature and gear position though not the speedometer.Yet…

  7. Good work, I would say the speedometer is the least important of all those:D

Thanks Wobbly, felt pretty pleased with myself when it came to life. And yeah I think you’re right. Will have a go at trying to get it working though.I have the ABS ring on the rear wheel and the sensor plugged in so mechanically there can’t go much wrong.I think…

  9. It's likely to be another setting or software issue. You say the engine Ecu and instrument display are communicating but are they communicating with the abs ecu as that's were the abs sensors are connected to.

The ABS system I’ve taken off and the loom has been altered by UK race support to work with the Delta ECU so I think like you said it’s software related.I think and hope I just need to go through the settings menu and switch some stuff on.
As the bike is for trackdays and racing I didn’t want an ABS system as I prefer the minimum of electronic aids.Probably why crashed three times last year.
