Hi all has anyone done the cbr600rr rear shock mod on here ???? I've been reading up on it just wondered if anyone has done it and how does it perform against the std tona one ... seen its an easy enough swap over spacers and longer bolts req pretty much it ???

So gave it a whirl after sorting spacers and longer bolts out its on feels a lot firmer than the stock . Granted mine was knacked after neglect... its raised back end up 4mm .... so front end feels a little bit twitchy so I'll raise front end to compensate for it .... overall bike feels better for me but I also have 2010 internals and fresh oil in my front forks (2006 bike) I had neglected this bike if im honest as I just used it for work also thought about parting it ..... glad i didnt..... spent some money and time on refreshing it back to been a nice looking bike . I like the look of the black gloss shock also against the yellow one. Easy mod. 20220916_070548.jpeg

  3. What rear shock does the CBR600RR come with? Any significant upgrade/changes other than the colour and raising it up?

Hi mate this one's off the cbr600rr 2011 model

Just required x2 2mm washer to pack out top of the shock as the daytona is 30mm and the cbr is 26mm.

Bottom end of the shock that joins the linkages required x4 5mm spacers to pack out the bottom of the shock as daytona shock is 30mm and cbr one is 40mm ..

So cbr shock opens up the link plates up 10mm from standard tona set up.

    So all I've used is

    2011 cbr 600rr rear shock 7k miles
    X2 2mm washers ( top of shock)
    X4 5mm spacers ( linkage)
    X3 10mm 65mm nuts and bolts (linkage)

Took an hour tops to do once set up.

It not set up right for me as yet as I've only just put bike back together but it's firmer went over a pot hole this morning and my spine was intact .... my tona one was crap but I'm putting that down to me not keeping it maintained as it should be I couldn't find a mint shock with low miles so opted to try this as a mod .... I got the shock fo 40 quid so I though I'd test it out .

Taking the cbr shock and putting it back as was as I've managed to pick a stock shock up for nothing really in good condition. Screenshot_20240125_094411_eBay.jpeg IMG-20220914-WA0003.jpeg
