Am I right in thinking you took the grille, bent the sides over and then bolted it on using the existing bolts holding the side rad guards?

 

Yes it holds it well

Does anyone have any issues with overheating with the guards fitted??

 

1985 got the evo tech one on mine and yes it does run a little hotter, to be expected tho and has already saved it at least once I can see. Hope that that helps

 

Might have to invest in one. Just a bit concerned about overheating after this weekend.
This weekend the fan kept kicking in when in traffic but the guage always read 1 bar from the top. It was v v warm this weekend though tbf.

May even paint it black tomorrow. ..
