Praise: Hastings Premier Insurance

Discussion in 'Off Topic' started by Janey, Jun 1, 2018.

  1. OK, so we've all been mugged by our mahoosive insurance premiums and then had to battle when we've needed to claim, haven't we?

We'll... For once my insurance company have been brilliant and it's only fair that I give them a bit of praise, rather than the usual rants that insurance companies generally get.

I had a teeny, weeny slow speed off nearly three weeks ago (with no one else involved) which caused a heartbreaking amount of damage to the bike, with the repair estimate coming in at just shy of £4k!!!

I'm fully comp with Hastings Premier because, although they're not the cheapest for me, they're not far from it and the cover they offered at renewal ticked all my boxes. Right from the start of my claim, they've been friendly, helpful and there was no issue with the bike being taken to my choice of garage, rather than one of their approved ones. My claim for my riding gear was paid out within a week no argument and all of the replacement parts for the bike, including a rather large amount of aftermarket and Triumph bling, was again agreed no arguments, even after the bike had been seen by an independent loss assessor.

All in all, I'm really impressed with how fast they've acted and how painless they've made the whole process. If only the muppets at the NHS were this good when treating my broken finger...

Praise for Insurance companies is rare indeed, delighted that they've treated you well mate.!

As for the NHS, INHO they are like any other large corporation:- They can only be as good as the worst person who is dealing with you. There are lots of hard working, gifted & conscientious NHS staff working with huge pressures & constraints. You just have pot luck as to who you are allotted to.

  3. You don't think that I could do a whole post without have a bit of a grumble about something, do you? :D

I'll rephrase it and say that the (alleged) hand surgeon that I had to deal with let down the rest of the polite, caring, hard working NHS employees that I usually encounter.

I'm pleased you got sorted. I'm with Hastings so good to hear.

It all makes sense now you reveal it was a surgeon. The only difference between God and a consulting surgeon is God doesn't think he's a surgeon. Get well soon.

I changed my insurance 2 weeks ago to Hastings so I hope they are as good as you say. So far they've not been very clever, asking 2 different companies to come and collect my bike to check damage on the same day, not sure how that works! Hopefully it'll get better.
