Just had to look out my Birth Certificate to confirm spelling of my own name...well it's my second middle name that I never use. But still
I remember when i applied for mine. I had to spell my name, my dads and my mums at the interview. Felt like a criminal
You don't know how to spell your name? That's embarrassing. What's the name?......my second middle name is Oswald.
My middle name is spelt wrong on all my official paperwork due to some dodgy writing on my original birth certificate and a misunderstanding between my parents. I only discovered this a couple of years ago after looking up family stuff on line. After discovering the entry on line was different to what I had been told I then dug out my birth certificate and could then see the error clear as day. My passport is wrong, my driving licence is wrong, my marriage certificate is wrong and so is my name on the kids birth certificates along with my mortgage paperwork and my bank accounts and all my exams from when I was a kid. Talk about a proper f*ck up. I have just left everything how it is.
Ohh....don't get me started!! My name has been misspelled several times by various different agencies, and when I did my home-loan I had to sign in all these different names....I'm like, WTF is this?? Took ages to do....I feel your pain.
Exactly the same thing happened to me, my Dad registered my birth and misspelled my middle name, it's been wrong on everything for years, nobody cares, not the passport office, the tax office or the electoral register, they even got it wrong on my divorce years ago. I don't care, its a silly name that I never use, but my Dad obviously thought it was cool at the time. He was wrong, sorry Dad.
