I used to have the Arrow on the B1 launch edition 13 (approx 10,250 miles done with it) if I can be of assistance
Thanks for replays I'm just trying to get an idea if anyone else has had issues with the exup valve , spoke to dealer and might has a suitable resolve , just waiting for him to confirm
Well after much jiggery & pokery it look like I have s result , due to pick up new bike Friday , the dealers have taken my bike away and I have chosen the new reg number for the new one so I look like its a goer Thanks to everyone for the help and advice on this and hope to meet up for rides in the spring Thanks Andy
Yes 675R again , noted down the vin numbers so they can't screw me over with the old one again Got no problem with the Dayton just this one don't work. This will be my third Daytona
Sorry just seen this but not sure if I can help or not, I had a 2013 675r that started off with the valve open completely in all gear but closed in nuetral then after a service it would 'twitch' when revved but seemed to pretty much seem open all the time. It pissed me off, the bike felt weird afterwards and I also had two arrows burn out at the end, so I was a bit fed up.
That's interesting what did you do in the end ? I have since found one other owner with Sam issue and he worked at Triumph never got to the bottom of it and in the end he just chopped the exup out altogether I am glad I'm having a replacement now
They didn't do anything mate part from re adjust the exup valves, however it appears the newer bikes are SUPER sensitive to cable adjustment and have to be set up with the computer plugged in so the cables can be set up. Incidentally the new fuel Map they released around April is definitely a bit lame, someone else on here works for triumph and noticed it also and tested it and the fuel adjustment is way out at certain points in the range, I'm hopeful they have fixed it by now as that was some months back
Well the factory have had it twice and the dealers 3 times and not got to the bottom of it , they fitted the arrow at the dealers from new so I don't know what the answer could be Hope the new one is sorted find out Friday
Let us know how the pick up goes Andy and we will keep our fingers crossed that all is well with the new one
So picked up replacement bike Friday and made sure vin numbers were good Had a ride Friday afternoon 100 odd miles and all appears to be good not exup problems , bike was a joy to ride So it proves that there was a fault with the original and I feel I made the right chose to push for a replacement I have noticed that my old bike is up for sale on the triumph birmingham used dike page ??? So I feel sorry for who ever buys it as I don't think they have fixed it but you never know
that is sad that a triumph dealer is trying to flog such a lemon on - I've heard of my local Ducati dealer recirculating recalled parts (a faulty fuel tank in this instance) via fleabay and think one of Red675's previous daytonas was up for sale despite a number of issues... I know they are all businesses but they do have a duty of care for their customers and should really be doing their utmost to take bad examples of their products off the roads rather than com some unsuspecting person into buying something they know is not right IMO... Just goes to show, nothing like a proper test ride before you buy - I pulled out of buying a 675r partly because it was due it's major service/tyres were not what I'd put on the bike and the dealer was a bit cagy with details - but also because I couldn't justify a 400 mile round trip just to test ride a bike I might not have bought. Name and shame the reg, or the vin at least? Glad the new bike is A-OK
The person I sold red 2 to, sent me an text a few days after getting it home to let me know I'd had badly cracked headers. Yet I’d only had the bike back 5 minutes (literally!) from a service with a Triumph dealership I frequent. You’d think they’d have mentioned something wouldn’t you? (unless of course they might have had to replace them under a warranty/recall claim *cough cough*).
Glad the pick up went well and your once again enjoying g the open road on 2 wheels. Shame about triumph selling on a bike with a known history like this. Poor show in my opinion
I know you don't have your battles to seek mate, but did you go back and complain to them? That could have been quite embarrassing for you selling a full service history bike in that condition.
