So...test ride threw up an exhaust blow from the usual place... balance pipes on the headers. Fortunately I've a pal who knows a man, who knows a man and they've kindly made one new balance pipe which was holed and welded all sorts of cracked bits and pieces, adding a bracing bar like the gen 2s have...I think . Anyway...all good. Currently in the Dordogne so bits to do when I get back. Nearly there now though! IMG-20240611-WA0010.jpg IMG-20240611-WA0011.jpg

the brace stops the main pipes moving when the link pipes are being welded,
i have a set that a local guy did without the brace, and will need some realignment before they could ever be used :pan:
lucky i had a spare set at the time.

I'm going slowly...but nearly there now! Exhaust fitted back up perfectly. A minor mod to the lower radiator stays (which had rotted off when I got the bike necessitating a new one. I've now got 2 coloured side cowls (Thanks @cpszx ) and some side protectors en route (thanks @StMarks ). Cleaned the bobbins with brake cleaner and it looked like they hadn't been floating at all so set about them.with a nut and bolt. Seem a lot freer now but if not I'll be looking for new R discs. New grips/indicator housings and a good clean and it's done. Really enjoyed it. Once sorted I'll look to service the front forks.
