Hi everyone. Andy from Jersey, Channel Islands here. Just wanted to introduce myself as I'm a realativly new forum member. Recently purchased a slightly poorly 2009 675 Daytona which I'm hoping to resurect for road and track duties. It might become a bespoke track bike if I bond with it. Prior to this I've owned a 2006 R6 (brilliant but needs huge revs) and more recently a 2012 CBR1000RR Fireblade (a bit too much for me tbh) and i'm also building an RC30 replica from a VFR750 RC36/2. I've always wanted either a Triumph of MV triple and glad to have secured this D675 at a fair price, knowing it might cost me a few £££ to get it were I want it. Cheers for now !
Hi Andy, welcome to this (in my opinion)great forum.Be interested to hear how the Daytona compares to your other bikes.I absolutely love mine but I’ve never ridden any other sports bikes,so no objective comparisons will be coming from me. Good luck with getting your Daytona back to good working order.Pretty sure you are going to love how it tracks through the corners and the way the triple works gassing out of the twisty bits. Regards Nik
Sounds like fun, never ridden there myself but it’s a proper track and world endurance races are ridden there so should be bike friendly as far as safety is concerned.
Welcome to our friendly little forum Andy Griffiths, your "poorly" bike looks pretty tasty imho. Please keep us posted on progress.
Welcome to the forum Andy, bike doesn't look too bad at first glance, is it a runner? I test rode an early F3 675 MV triple when looking to replace my first Daytona, and while it looked great (from a distance) the riding experience was a disappointment, the 2013 675R I went for was leagues ahead in my book. Don't track mine personally but there are many on here with years of experience running Daytona's on track, if you need advice on mods or things to watch out for. Feel free to post some pictures of the RC30 replica build, one of my all time favourite bikes.
Welcome Andy, Jersey lad eh. I worked on Brecqhou In the nineties and met lots of Jersey folk. One was dull enough to loan me his RG500 for an afternoon blast...scared the shite out of me on those roads. Being just the wrong side of 60 I have riden many many bikes of all genre. I can almost guarantee the D675 will entertain. Good luck with the project keep us posted on le man. I was there last Sept but just visiting while making my way south on the Gen 1 Tuono
