been looking everywhere at daytona's, seen one on ebay which has had its clocks changed. should this be recorded in the service log/owners manual somewhere? or is it ok just to have the old MOT's to show the difference in miles displayed?

My bike had new clocks after 3000 miles under warranty before i owned it. There is a note in the service book stating the milage before they were changed and written in the warrenty repairs log

thanks, is this a legal requirement

  4. Welcome on board matey. Don't listen to all their nonsense I had a white one for my first daytona and thought it was fast then I got my Diablo Red and decided that was faster. I also have a Stealth Coloured Daytona too which is great for evading the bacon as you blend into the road

As far as I recall: No. There is nothing legally that needs the mileage to be recorded or exact whilst you own it. However if you sell a vehicle as having done less miles than it actually has then that's breaking the law - but if you advise that the mileage is unknown or approximate because of clocks change then that's fine.

offer has been accepted, and so the shopping list is being generated,
    tail tidy
    mini indicators
    seat cowl
foot peg blanking plates (off to find the thread about these soon)
gel riders seat (if i find the normal one uncomfortable)
scot oiler (if theres space to fit one somewhere, and yes i am that lazzy about oiling chains).
i'm sure i will think of more.
it has a TOR exhaust fitted, i know these aren't road legal but will it get through an MOT with it fitted?

    Well done fella.!

Scottoilers can be fitted, both types (electronic & "V" type) I have one fitted on mine.!

:p If you are concerned about that "nasty old TOR can", I would be prepared ;) to do you a straight swap for a nice legal standard one. LOL :p Or, I also have an oval Carbon can with (removable) BSAU approved baffle???

where have you placed the reservoir? how easy are they to fit, as a garage did my last one.

haha nasty old TOR can, i've seen your posts trying to get one. i'm all so getting the original can, just wanted to know if it would pass an MOT or will i have to swap them over each year.

also crash bungs will be on the list but i will get a garage to fit them, dont fancy ruining the fairings if i mess up

I have a scottoiler on mine although I don't use it. The resevoir is held on with cable ties behind the rear subframe, just about where the key goes to release the seat. I'll get a picture for you tomorrow if you need one. :D

Most MOT stations will pass a TOR/Aftermarket can without baffle. Ask when booking it in and tell them you have the standard at home but can't be arsed to change it back. They know you'll only put the loud can back on as soon as you get back home. Don't use them if they won't!! ;)

Use GB Racing/T3 Racing bungs so you don't have to drill the fairings. ;)

a picture would be great thanks

my MOT guy didn't even give me an advisory for white indicators last year on the sv, so he probably wouldn't say anything about an exhaust.

was looking at the GB Racing ones, wouldn't mind the whole kit but 330 odd quid isn't going to happen at the mo.

No problem Davetona, ironically I took those pic's this afternoon in case they were any use for Craig's Mods' compilation.

Russ_C, there's also a Brand new Gel seat just been listed on Fleabay, starting price .99p
