Figured I would post up a couple pictures of my bike.... I have a couple cosmetic mods waiting to go on, carbon fiber heel guards for the rearsets, a Triumph brake reservoir collar and some grips and gold asv levers. I am also waiting to try and fab up an exhaust for the time being. It already has the TOR on it I just want it a little louder I havent done much to it or ridden it a bunch yet cause its winter and we have about 8 inches of snow right now so I am piling up parts and bummed.
Progression too he has a 675 [/quote] I have to say after my white and Blue the Black and gold is the DB's...
Welcome matey i do like the black and gold, black the best colour...sorry color i think is that a CJ7 in the back ground?
Hi, Welcome along. I too came from a CBR600rr, mine was an '08 and I did love it but it just didn't have quite enough character, and on the road I would have given up 10hp to have some more grunt in the middle of the revs. Plus the 675 strikes that 'racebike feel' middle ground between the Ducati 748 I had and the CBR, the engine is simply perfect on the road. Any questions just let us know, the bike looks stunning!
Thanks all! I am so glad to get such a warm welcome....no its not a CJ7 its my 2002 TJ Wrangler, thats my DD lifted and all that stuff. I just cant leave any of my vehicles stock
Hello Andrew You sure that bike is 2008? - it looks like it just rolled off the production line Like yours, mine's a 2008 but looks more like 1998, so I take your pics as a kick up the ass to do something about it!!! It pains me to say it, it really does, but graphite is not the best colour to make look nice and shiny
Thanks!!! Yeah I bought this a few months ago with 3700 miles and was a second owner! I was suprised as most to see how clean it was! It was owned as a road bike by a racer and then the last owner used it only on the weekends so its is great shape! I only hope to keep it looking this good. Maybe I can get some cleaning up keep tips from everyone.
I find the best way to keep my bike clean is to not ride it, keep it locked away in a garage, out of reach from animals, kids and the wife and to take 5 days to do its typical cleaning routine. Maybe a tad excessive but it seems to work.
Thanks for the tip but....yeah....although it might keep it clean its a waste of the money I spent on her
Some silicone spray (like GT85 in the UK) is good to spray on the area around the rad etc it gives a shine and the fly's and bugs just wipe straight off. Apart from that i just give mine a kind of dry bath after each or every other ride. I get half a bucket of wash and wax and a micro fiber cloth. Soak the cloth and ring it out so its just wet and wash down like that and polish after. I never use a hose.
We had builders bashing the house around generally and knocking down a few internal but solid walls in particular, and one of them removed all the dust and rubble the obvious way - through the garage. The mess was indescribable, and much of it went over my bike, which is why it looks so manky. Andysjt saw it all covered in crap and made a few choice comments - something about growing potatoes on it I think
Andrew, for cleaning the bodywork I use Meguiar's "Quick Detailer" to just wipe it down and get a good shine..."PlastX" is good for the tiny little scratches you'll no doubt get on the screen....for the grime you'll get on the wheels, try using old fabric softener sheets after they've been through the dryer....sounds weird, but works a treat.
That is a weird idea but i think I will try it. You just use the sheets alone or witha wheel cleaner?
