[quote="EagleRacing-Steve" There's a few of us who do regular local meets when the suns shining and all are welcome pal. Best of luck with the test mate. [/quote] And one or two of us have been known to ride down to Kent in a feckin monsoon
And ride back again in the same monsoon, while the other silly sods spend the day getting wet and cold and enjoying it. I think.
They are on my shopping list. I think I should get some crash protection first. Not that i'm planning on crashing her...lol 1: Pass bike test...lol 2: Get decent set of leathers. 3: Decent boots (Get stop looking at Daytonas (obviously)...lol Sorry for those of you who thought this was an excerpt of '50 Shades of Grey...lol 4: New Black lid. I like this one. Not sure yet though. http://www.bykebitz.co.uk/acatalog/Roof ... Black.html 5: Crash protection 6: Cosmetic mods 7: Extra performance mods. ( Hopefully I will have tamed her by this time)
I doubt it TBH, your bike is not just fast, it's insanely fast, enjoy it but please don't try to run before you can walk, you'll get hurt Nothing clever about falling off, hell I've done it enough times (seven so far    ) Thought of you today as I went past the test place in Shrewsbury. I saw a learner coming back from test, he looked confident on an old ER-5 and from the body language I guessed he knew he had passed, so I gave him a very friendly nod and then a blast of TOR off the roundabout, hope he liked it
Thanks for your concern Edski675. I'm going to be very careful. I won't be showing off. It was the same when I got my 125. Gradually, over time, I knew what I could do and what I couldn't. I've spent the last 3 years perfecting my riding skills. I realise that there is a massive differance between a 125 and a 675. Infact, just about everthing is different. The one important thing I have learned though, is how dangerous it can be out on the road. I'm super aware of everything around me. Not to the point where I am a nervous wreck. I have an uncanny knack of predicting exactly what other car drivers are going to do (even before it's entered their simple minds...lol). That doesn't mean I only rely on that. I still remain prepared for the unexpected. I never take unnecessary risks. To date, I've had one accident. It happened early on. I approached a roundabout...It was dark...To my right, a car was approaching on the inside, He was probably traveling at approx. 30mph. I rode out. My plan was to stay on the outside lane and stay behind him. I was going straight on. I accelerated to approx 25 mph. He suddenly sped up and decided to go straight on. I reacted by swerving. He did the same and caught me with the rear passenger door. I had a feeling he was going to do this, but I had already committed myself. I escaped with a sprained wrist. I was wearing decent protection. He checked I was alive, then drove off. I was too shaken to get his number. Taught me a valuable lesson though. Every cloud.....lol I've booked my theory. I take it on 12th Sept 2012. Nice of you to be thinking of me. I really can't wait until I can take her out on the road. It will be great to meet up with some of you. I think I will learn a lot. Nice of you to give the guy a nod. I bet he must have felt ecstatic if he had passed. I know I will. I'll keep you informed of my test progress. Any advice will be very welcome.
Hiya, welcome along Take it easy on the 675, here's something to ponder: Your 125, top speed 70 odd? Daytona 675. .. 90mph in 1st gear! Mmm, nice Enjoy.
Hiya Captain Steffydog. 70 downhill with the wind behind me....lol Maybe I'll stick to neutral to start with then...lol I've uploaded a video of my bike now. Wouldn't upload to this site for some reason :? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eCsj9cy-LeA
Bike looks lovely mate, best of luch with the test, that's a few now that are buying bikes and then doing there tests!! Fair play, it is a pretty Unique paint job also.
Hi D41. Nothing major. Just couldn'r upload video on site. I did it to youtube instead. Thanks Kingfixer Thanks Phill748. Let's hope we all pass All I can do is look at the bike at the moment. Very annoying...lol Can you tell me the difference between the Arrow Slip-On and the complete Arrow exhaust (if there is a difference...lol) The only reason I ask is, the previous owner has given me the complete stock exhaust. Also, is it worth replacing the stock seat? Many thanks in advance for any help
Hi, Yep, you will be able to tell, the complete Arrow system will a) be bigger in diameter all the way through B) won't have the exup valve (black plastic cover) down under the right hand foot rest, and C) Won't have a catylitic converter. if you post up a pic then people will have a look for you, I also don't think your silence would go straight on a full system but not sure on that one.
You have a standard exhaust system mate, although it is possible that the previous owner may have chopped the 'cat' out, that seems to be popular, not 100% sure though, someone else can advise on that I am sure as I haven't done it
Arrow slip on is just an end can, ie only the bit under the pillion seat, the full Arrow system is a complete exhaust system - everything replaced from the engine back, the full system is really intended for racing but one or two here have it fitted to road bikes. There also 2 separate "maps" for each exhaust, there's a lot of stuff about maps on here but simply put it is the programme you load into the bike ecu that controls the amount of and timing of the fuelling, ignition timing, speedo adjustment, exup valve settings, max rpm etc etc. in short you put the wrong one in and you get problems. Hth, DG.
I've got the complete exhaust system then. I've got a box with the stock exhaust in it. He also put the silencer in there. And the stocks levers. It was mapped by Triumph when they fitted the exhaust. They attached a computer to a connection under the seat. It was also proggrammed with the quickshifter apparently. The old exhaust is very heavy...lol
Do you mean 12th Oct???? I don't really remember the theory gubbins except that they ask completely random stupid questions which never arise in real life. So make sure you know the Highway Code THOROUGHLY, like the daft signs on school buses etc etc etc. Have fun!! Ed
