Atfer a great 200 plus mile ride today I washed the bike and while removing the rear paddock stand the bike lost balance (my drive is at an angle) and hit the gate:

So, after Gen 3 upper fairing and stuff (including an offside wing mirror as it snapped).
Anyone got something they want to sell or knows someone??

  2. Oh fuckeddydoodaa. I feel your pain and that's why I have a mild fear of using paddock stands, although my damage wasn't anywhere near as spectacular.

Have you tried the usual eBay offerings?

    Thanks Janey.
Had a quick look last night and didn't find anything. Will keep my eyes peeled though.

Jeez that's terrible Gninnam. Fwiw I've also been a member of the "Paddock Stand Prey" club, and I far prefer unloading to be a two person task whenever possible.
I'm afraid that I don't have any Gen3 parts at all, but like Janey said eyes peeled on Fleabay.
I guess you were lucky in that your mirror snapped, rather than the subframe it mounts onto.

/Edit* Janey sold her pair of mint gen3 mirrors recently, and iirc the buyer only actually wanted one of them ?

hey gninnam, i am sure i have an upper fairing in a box in my shed.

Will check to make sure i still have it and grab some photos, as it was replaced under warranty for some reason and it might remind me why.

Quick check in shed and garage didn’t find it but i know there are some parts up in the loft as well, so will check that later.
I don’t remember selling it so it must be here somewhere.

  10. Likewise my sympathies.

I haven’t had a paddock stand fall, but I did have a D675 fall from my hydraulic lift bench.

    Doh

Mercifully it was at a very low level at the time, and fell into a pile of empty cardboard boxes. Still some damage, but could have been way worse.

FFS.... fingers crossed you get sorted . I think @redsail bought the mirrors and iirc was after a LHS one so may have a RHS one for sale? Might be worth dropping them a PM. Hope you get sorted. I've no gen3 parts sadly.

  12. Yeah, those mirrors did go to @redsail . They were literally the only bits left after selling the R a couple of weeks ago, so I've no other Gen3 parts to offer from my magic underbed box of random spares.

Is it repairable I wonder - trying to work out what metal its made from, Probably Aluminium.

I found it, and its all fine. There is a very small crack in gelcoat in the V which i hadnt even seen or noticed when they told me it was being replaced, so its almost perfect.

i didnt find it earlier as it was not in the box which i remember, it was just wrapped in foam sheet.

the problem will be transport, as i wouldnt want to trust it being posted i dont think.

Nose cone off - I see you have to take the whole thing off to get the top part off....

Sticker on my top nose cone on the orginal one to the bike shows the date of August 2015, the one off Craig today is dated December 2012 - spans the full production run of the Gen 3's I believe :)

Working out now how to get the clocks off so I can get the metal holder for the clocks and nose cone off and see about repairing it (another pic of the damage)
