Not that its gonna happen but if Yamaha makes an R6 look alike version of the mt09 with 900cc triple, power modes, abs, slipper clutch and the whole 9 yards, what would you guys think?
And think about scratching the itch, if you know what i mean?

That would be a great idea. They've already launched the tracer (adventure style) mt-09. No reason why they couldn't develop a fairing and clipons.

Can't see that happening and I for one wouldn't want to go round a corner on it with clip ons, hard enough with up right bars ha ha

The suspension is dyer and the front brake is worse than that, if bike is being used for commuting that's about it give it the beans and it will end in tears. Worst modern bike I have ridden.

I have heard that before but from multiple personal interactions with riding buddies here is the crux its wayy cheaper than some other bikes and off the factory floor the brakes and suspension setup sucks. Get new brake pads and dial the suspension and it hits the sweet spot!

Sounds like it'd be competition for the R1

I know its not perfect but it cost 7 grand something... If they do do a supersport gonna be a bit more expensive and would try to get 2 birds with one stone gsxr750 and might get showa forks... I am just dreaming lolz

I tried one and was disappointed (I like yams) It didn't do anything better than my standard street triple apart from pull stronger but hey it's a bigger engine and did quite a few things worse.

You could also tell it has been built to a price, as for super sport version sounds good if they up the ante on it but then it would conflict with the R6 or R1 sales..

Totally agree ^^^^^^^ cant see them doing it, like you say the R6 new model is due out 2016 and from all reports its going to be the billy bollox of the 600 world???

If i was needing a bike to commute on then the cheap mt07 or mt09 would be top of the list.

Really... I didn't know the r6 is up for renewal since 2006 really. That'll be fantastic. Let's see if they go with baby R1 or triple ... Look at me all giggly (not gonna happen stupid)
