Folks.... just on the off chance someone on here knows a motorbike mechanic in Algeciras or similar. I've collapsed rear wheel bearings. Still in Morocco but I'll hopefully limp it onto the ferry but I'll get no further . Currently holding the sprocket carrier on with cable ties.
Very sorry to hear this Simon, obv's I'm not going to be able to suggest anyone ( next time, please remember to break down near Barcelona, and I may be better placed to assist). Is this the Honda ? -Rather disappointing if so ..
Likewise, sorry to hear this Simon. I have a biker friend who lives in Gibraltar, I have asked if he knows anyone. Don't build your hopes too high as I know he's brought his bike back to the UK for some major work previously. But you never know. Will report back ASAP when I hear back from him.
Thanks Guys. . It's the Vstrom thou. 62 k miles on it so overdue a bearing failure . I just need to get the bloody thing another 60 km up the road to the ferry. I'll leave it in Spain if needs be and fly home. I've potentially found somewhere in Algerciras...but personal recommendations are always best. . I'll post up a picture when I get back in the garage....the solution does not permit fast motorcycling . Trip has been brilliant. My thousand pound Vstrom has been canny
Simon - suggested by a Spanish friend (of my friend in Gibraltar!) is Sport Moto, who are near the centre of Algeciras. Old school type of repairer
All sorted.... I'll save the full story for over a beer however ended up in Moto Taller. Amazing guys. Dragged everything off the ramps, put the bike up and then went scavenging for a sprocket carrier, bearings, spacers, etc etc. on way in 3 hours for £250. Top place.
