I don't either, and I'm sure she won't, but its better to be realistic. And BTW Ed, it was more a response to Steffy's post saying you can't fail.
Agreed, sorry, yes you can fail. But let's think positively! I should have been clearer. My mates 16 year old daughter did it a few weeks back in the cold. She really enjoyed the day. She's out on the roads on her little green Vespa now, top speed about 40! Great stuff.
That's cool, I understand that if they really feel you are unsafe or just not confident enough, they will send you home. Which i guess is technically a fail! Will keep you all posted either way!
Sorry, the 'F' word is now banned from this thread and I shall go wash my mouth out with the mild green hairy lipped squid!
Ha ha! I like the use of 'mild'- as if there may be a strong version of green hairy lipped squid. Steffy has a thing for squids doesn't he. Lol. Hhhhmmmmkkkkaaayy! So the F word is officially banned! Cushty
Steffy is a squid...and proud of it!... So are you, come to think of it!! "Squid" is biker-slang for a newbie rider, BTW.
I have of course told all this tis several times, but I suppose it is better to hear it from the non bf types who arnt jus saying it to boost confidence! Shell be fine because I'm an awesome teacher!
Hi there and welcome from here up in the NW. Hope you enjoy the new bike and are successful with the CBT- The way to look at it without sounding all serious is that all the training up to passing your test helps you become a safe and confident rider and should be approached as such but mainly enjoyed as no doubt will the fun and freedom be for the rest of your motorcycling carreer. I honestly wish these things were around in the "dark ages" when we had L plates on 250's and on our test we rode around the block a couple of times waiting for the examiner (walking!) to jump out into the road for us to do an emergency stop. Then he passed you if you didnt lock up or hit him How dangerous were things in them days? Its a wonder any of us are around to recall. ENJOY! ENJOY! ENJOY! is the best advice I can give.
My Dad never fails to remind me what his test was like back in the day. Car test passed in a bread van and bike test consisted of riding around the block whilst examiner waited got you to come back. Dad said he nearly fell off but examiner wasn't even in view.
Its funny that the test has got harder yet there seems to be more numpties on scooters these days that don't have the slightest hint of road sense.
Numpties on scooters only need a cbt to be able to ride, which I believe isn't a failable test but a course to improve knowlege and awareness. When I was doing the cbt part of my DAS there was a 16 year old kid, it was his 16 birthday. He had experience with motocross on his dads farm- anyway it took the instructor about 30 mins to get the said kid to understand how to get his scooter on/off the centre stand. ??? We eventually progressed to out on the road and ended up following the kid round at an uneasy 15-20 mph..... Needles to say the kid walked away with cbt.
Hi Everyone!!! I've just got my CBT certificate!!! wahooooo!! Literally just got home. Well chuffed! Going straight out on the Mito to show a few chums and the olds. SOOOOOO glad thats done! Just practice now! It was in the dark and wet too so hopefully tomorrow should feel even easier in the daylight and dry!
Congratulations and Well done!!! - So what's the next bit? Crack on with it and hopefully you will have your full ticket by Easter!
