I bought a second daytona to brake it for parts.
2008 model, 29000 kms stock apart from arrow slip on, gilles rear sets, de-cat, de-EXUP and an arrow slip on map (20420).
It was in a great condition apart from the right side that was slightly damaged so I decided to turn it into a budget track bike.

I replaced the loom with a 2009+ one that I had laying around from my race bike as I wanted to install a quick shifter.
    And here is my question.
The bike starts fine, no error codes, all is well. The problem is that I try to upload via TuneEcu a map from the 2009+ model (in order to use the quick shifter) but TuneEcu dont allow me.
"The map is not compatible with this ECU"
I thought that it could be done.

Is there a way to upload a different map?

    Yes
The bike is running without ANY issue. No error codes, everything is ok.

The only thing is that i want to download on the ecu a newer map (for the 2009-2012 model) so that i can run a quick shifter.

Tomorow I ll try to conect the shifter from my race bike to check if it is working.

  6. Quickshifter works by cutting the coils through the ECU, you need the 09-12 ecu (and sadly clocks aren’t interchangeable either)

  7. Yes mate,
Unfortunately you require the later clocks & ECU to allow you to use the plug & play.

    Thanks for the replies
Just for the record I connected my qs and it didn’t work.

I contacted 2 local tuners with experience in triumphs. The first one had no idea, but the second said that the later ecu has different processor and as a result it can’t be done.
    You can’t download a 09-12 tune to a 06-08 ecu.

So I am after a reasonably priced 09-12 ecu and clocks set. Or even better a kit ecu and loom.
