Life with a Ducati 899

Discussion in 'Other Bikes' started by Burndownthediscos, Dec 8, 2014.

  1. I dunno mate, I think it's because the ratios are a lot further apart, sometimes it changes really nice but the 675r quick shifter was like having an auto gearbox, this one isn't as smooth. Maybe it's just me, the gearbox overall is the eat gearbox I have ever used except for my 2008 ZX6R, Kawasakis always have decent gearboxes!

  3. Are they for real. Obviously departments don't talk to each other. Should a wacking great voucher attached to the letter to buy some gear.

  4. Maybe 3 points. 1. Your passion about ducati panigale series 2. All issues you had 3. As diablo pointed, why don't their depts don't talk to eachother? At the end maybe explain disappointment for them to make up for it...

does anyone know how hard/easy these are to remove?

  7. Try a hair dryer to loosen adhesive and peel off. May need some tar/glue remover to get any residue off.

thanks mate, the hideous little bugger makes my stomach turn every time i look at it :puke1:

  9. Yeah I would say u will need a hair dryer to warm it and then when u get a corner up try using some heat to peal it back. Go easy though mate!

I have ventureshield on my bike (was there when I got it) and u can barely see it, so you could get a half kit which covers tank and knees.

Happy to take pics for u if it helps?

  10. Sorry, I was agreeing with Pep but the post was aimed at Red!

Yeh if you could please mate, any excuse for some more pics ay. ;)

I don’t understand why anyone would put one of these on their pride and joy tbh. They are revolting and completely destroy the look of a shiny beautiful tank imho (and yes I appreciate it stops marks from leathers etc but there’s other options for that as you say)

  12. Tbh I would just be careful and if it did get a few scratches on I would fit a tank guard prior to sale... Although so far I've managed not to scratch my tanks

i had a few blemishes on my 675 one from trousers etc but nothing quite as ugly as those tank spec things

  14. Yeah, can't stand them, I'm sure they are brill but I can't bring myself to using them

  15. To be fair I think any reason to add a bit of carbon is good imho. And don't think the Matt carbon Ducati is half bad. Also don't need any advice on removing bud, it's Ducati so will fall off in time.

  17. So difficult to take pictures of it tbh but u can just about see the outline of it! It's easier to see by the brake lever because I've cleaned the bike in a rush and left the dirty by it :-(

Whoa - those cans do not look like they have not been styled in Italy... Why the big fugly cans? Emissions or noise dictated?

Akrapovich et al will be rubbing their hands together and counting the euros after seeing that...
